Petrified - 20 week scan tomorrow - normal??

I am so nervous ahead of our 20 week scan tomorrow. Is this normal?? Sounds like a ridiculous question but just want to know I'm not alone! Our 12 week scan was fine although I had bleeding caused by a hematoma and am so scared they will tell us something is wrong with baby as a result. Or just something generally awful.

I was like this - fine until about 2 days before any scans, at which point I became a bag of nerves.

So yes, normal :)

I know I need to just relax! So many mums keep saying how wonderful scans are - I hate it I'm a nervous wreck!!

I was the same. At the 12 week scan I was worried they wouldn't find a baby in there and at the 20 week scan I was worried they'd find something! I have an extra scan at 32 weeks due to placenta placement, not worried yet, but give it another 3 weeks and I'll be terrified!

totally normal - I had bleeding at 9 and 10 weeks and was a bag of nerves at both the 12 and 20 week scans - I have a 32 week scan booked in for next week and the usual feelings are back again!

My 20 week scan in on Tuesday... I already can't sleep for nerves! I know it's probably a bit daft and everything will almost certainly be fine but I can't help it!

I had my twenty week scan last week and I was an absolute mess before hand. I normally really in control but I was just convinced they were going to discover something terrible. The minute the baby appeared on the screen and I could see the heartbeat and him wiggling around I let out a massive sigh and deflated on the bed. When we got to the end and she went through all the measurements and everything with us my husband was really happy and excited and I just felt numb - I think I'd been so prepared for bad news I didn't know what to do with the good! Hope you're scan goes well! I hope you can distract yourself a bit before hand so the wait doesn't seem so bad.

Every scan, every hearbeat check for me. I find a distraction is great, usually a book (though last time it was a blind panic as there was no parking for 30 mins ... I got in just the nick of time).

Thank you so much all - everything went fine and baby is healthy and wriggly with lovely long legs like mummy!
