Have you tried spatone iron? It's a liquid you can drink/mix with other drinks. What are your iron levels?

Not sure you can eat liver in pregnancy! Red meat has got iron too.

Ask your GP to prescribe the iron in a liquid formulation- the one I have is called sytron. It is just like the tablets but easily absorbed and doesn't cause tummy issues. Spa Tone is good too as is floradix but these are much lower doses and you pay for them.

Also, do not take iron with calcium containing foods such as dairy or with caffeine.

Do not eat liver!!

It contains high levels of vitamin a which can cause serious deformities in a foetus.

Plenty of lean red meat with green leafy veg. Tea, coffee and antacid tablets can stop you absorbing iron so avoid these at meal times.

Some people are just really bad at absorbing iron. If you're one of them then supplements taken orally may be of limited use. My advice would be to talk to your doctor - they may prescribe you a liquid iron tonic or you may need iron injections/infusions again.
