I'm struggling. I have a honking cold and every cough or sneeze refreshes a new way of sickness. I'm a mess and have no energy. Someone tell me it gets better...

It does. Then it gets bad again. Then better. Then bad. Then better. That's me so far at 15 weeks. I'm sorry I can't be more reassuring! You're not alone though. Flowers

Oysterbabe · 19/10/2015 22:36

I felt pretty good for about 15 minutes at 20 weeks. Hope that helps.

hilbil21 · 19/10/2015 22:43

I felt rubbish for most of my pregnancy and was overjoyed when it was finished lol x

TreeSparrow · 19/10/2015 22:49

I felt terrible with crippling exhaustion and sinusitis until about 11wks. Then things got better. I'm 32wks now and still nothing is as bad as it was in those first weeks. It does get better.

carbolicsoaprocked · 19/10/2015 23:32

I got a honking cold around then too, it was pretty miserable alongside morning sickness and general knackeredness. Hot lemon and ginger saved me, it helped with both the sickness and the cold :) Soon the cold will be gone and most likely your sickness will go soon too - mine disappeared at 13 weeks. You're only 4 short weeks away from the 2nd trimester, which was SO much better than the first for me. The 3rd trimester was also easier for me, I'm not saying it was a piece of cake but I definitely found the early weeks the toughest. You can do this! Congratulations!

CloudsofBrick · 20/10/2015 08:50

I remember feeling better from 12-14 weeks ish last time. I'm currently 10 weeks and it feels never ending. I'd love the luxury of lying in bed, god that would be bliss because I really don't want to be at work.

Hang in there - not long to go til second trimester! I'm limping towards half term on Friday and a short period of respite!

Fugghetaboutit · 20/10/2015 08:56

My sickness passed at 12 weeks first pregnancy, 9 weeks this one

DelphiStar · 20/10/2015 09:07

Thanks folks. :)

oyster that made me laugh sorry OP but that's basically it although you feel shitty for so long it becomes normal.

AliciaMayEmory · 20/10/2015 09:11

I remember 8 weeks. Awful sickness, no energy and feeling just terrible. Plus it was my 30th birthday and as I felt so ill I couldn't be bothered to celebrate. But, for me, it did pass and this was the worst I felt in both pregnancies. By 10 weeks I was marginally better and then it was onwards and upwards. Look after yourself and rest up when you can. It will pass!

DearTeddyRobinson · 20/10/2015 09:19

I felt OK for a day at 10 weeks. This threw me into a blind panic and I rushed to the hospital for a scan. All was well. Felt better by 14 weeks (sorry). 20 weeks now and feel so much better, just a bit tired. Hang in there!!

DelphiStar · 20/10/2015 09:31

As long as this easier 2nd trimester thing isn't a myth!!

100% the first trimester is the hardest. The sickness and nausea can be relentless. Just think in a few more weeks you'll turn a corner. If it gets too much pop to the doctors and they can prescribe something to help.

wonkylegs · 20/10/2015 09:39

I've felt better at 10wks and all its done is made me worry.
DH keeps reminding me that I'm a miserable pregnant woman - I was quite poorly in both previous pregnancies.

lemon101 · 20/10/2015 09:41

8 weeks was the worst - really the absolute worst. I was feeling distinctly brighter at 11 weeks and then have been pretty much normal (other than the odd day where presumably bump was going through a growth spurt) where I wanted to die again. I'm 33 weeks now and I can confirm that at least this end of the third trimester- for me at least - is a breeze compared to the first trimester.

Hang on in there, it could all pass pretty soon. But be reassured that feeling like shit is actually a good thing!

TwllBach · 21/10/2015 21:43

I'm 13 weeks and have felt fucking horrendous since 7 weeks. When I turned 12 weeks I expected to feel better and so far I have not

Chloeisobelle21 · 22/10/2015 08:24

I'm 12 weeks and 3 days suffering all day nausea and have already been sick 3 times today :(
I don't think I can cope with much more, I'm such a mess

Chloeisobelle21 · 22/10/2015 08:30

Please don't tell me I'm the only one that doesn't even bother brushing my hair anymore? I just feel like shit. This is my second pregnancy

Wishful80smontage · 22/10/2015 09:17

Second pregnancy is so much harder than when I was expecting dd- I'm shattered and yes my hair hasn't seen a brush in while either.

TwllBach · 22/10/2015 11:46

Work are lucky if I turn up with washed/properly dry hair, let alone contacts instead of glasses/brushed hair/make up. I haven't bothered plucking my eyebrowss/chin hairs/sorting my beard hairs for about a fortnight either.
