Hi,

I'm visiting friends at 35weeks first pregnancy and staying over night. Is about 2 hours from home., would you take hospital bag?

Definitely!

Muckogy · 19/10/2015 22:03

yes.

Oh OK, I'm clearly too new too this. Maybe I should be asking if I should be starting closer to home?

I'd do it but take hospital bag, maternity notes, car seat etc. Will your dh /dp be going too?

Picnic2223 · 19/10/2015 22:12

DH is coming too, and friend has 2 children so is aware of the nearest maternity ward

I think I'd go so long as I was prepared to give birth there in an emergency. I say this as someone who gave birth at 35 weeks..!

Thanks for the advice, it will obviously be the past time we see them before the baby comes and they will be coming to us next time. I will make sure I get packed and organisationed.

I'm off this weekend at 34 wks to stay the night with friends 2 hrs away. Driving myself. Hadn't planned to bring my notes. Guess I might as well just in casearch. But there's nothing interesting on them I couldn't tell you myself.

Eek am 35 weeks and don't even have a hospital bag let alone packed one! Leaving work this Friday so MUST get sorted then...

AmberLav · 20/10/2015 09:14

Pigs back, definitely take your notes. If you end up at a maternity ward for any reason, your life will be a lot easier if you have your notes with you. I have never yet met a midwife/consultant who will accept the mum's word for anything regarding her own pregnancy.

And also the law of sod states that if you are prepared, nothing will happen!

Picnic2223 · 20/10/2015 09:56

coffee I'm only 32 weeksI didn't pan on having anything ready however I read a thread on aibu abit someone going to a wedding at 36 weeks and taking the car seat just in case. So I thought I'd get opinions.

I had dd at 35 weeks and had no hospital bag packed. I was in for ten days and not allowed home to pick up my things, and trying to explain to dp what I needed and where it was was a total pain. So I would advise everyone to pack your bags early!
