Would I condemn my child to a life of ridicule with the initials E.A-T?

I inherited a double barrelled surname from DH. He is R.A-T, I am S.A-T, and our DD is N.A-T (which is fun as her name is Natalie). We are expecting another in the new year, and like the name Eve if it's a girl, but then the initials would be E.A-T.

Is that really bad? We already changed the boys name as naming him after DH's father would be F.A-T, and we know thats just mean.

If it could be easily altered by omitting the middle intitial then I'd say what the Hell, go for it. However, that would create ET. .

Couldn't you just add another middle name? EAGT for example is perfectly OK (skip EAST though LOL)

It's not rude or that funny, don't think people take much notice of initials really.

tweetyfish · 04/12/2006 20:27

Its better than R A T in my opinion!

Go for it, initials are rarely used really....

i think it's cute, and it would fit right in with the rest of you.

That doesn't seem to bad to me but I'm not a junior school child and you never know what they'll find funny. My DD has the initails RAC so at least I know she won't be bullied about that until at least secondary school!

My DD has the initials M A D. My sister said I was not allowed to call her MXXX AXXX because it would spell M A D. That made me more determined to call her it! >

She did come home from school about 3 months ago and announced "Mummy. My initials spell MAD. My friends thought that was very funny" She is 6.
