hi gen...so sorry that you have been left with this worrying news hanging over your head...,,,, sadly , bleeding in pregnancy can signal a miscarriage. , but you have had 2 weeks of no bleeding and they baby has a heartbeat,...i think perhaps the hospital could have been a little more sensitive in the way they discussed this with you...no more advice, but will bump this for you and hopefully someone with some more personal experience will be along soon,,,,x

Hi there

I hope I can be of some help to you!

Did they say whether the heamatoma was in the sac or outside the sac?

The reason I ask is I had quite a large heamatoma from 6 weeks in this pregnancy (now 29 wks) I bleed from week 6 to 16, they told me there was a small risk of miscarriage but the nice nurse also told me that she'd only ever seen it happen under the circumstances like mine once in ten years It gave me hope and like the previous poster said bleeding in early pregnancy is very common, my heamatoma was 40mm x 30mm x 30mm and it was to the side of the pregnancy sac. I cab assure you my baby is fine and the bleeding stopped evetually!

Have they offered you any further scans? I was scanned every two weeks to keep an eye on it.

Good luck honey x x

hi, thanks for replying. i think that the haematoma is outside the sac, to me it looked like a sort of rainbow shape going up and over the sac. the nurse said it was about a 70% chance that it will be ok and i just have to wait for the bleeding to start or maybe my body might absorb the blood back. i have to go back in 2 weeks to see if it has shrunk. on my notes they had written it was a large haematoma which doesnt sound too good. gen

i had a scan at 6 weeks and they found a haematoma to the side of the baby. Aparently this is quite common. i started to bleed the following week ( brown in colour) which is the old blood. was told not to worry too much as long as the blood is brown and painless . had a scan at 7 weeks and all was well. just started bleeding again (am 10 weeks now) going for a scan tomorrow. Hope all is well for you good luck in your pregnancy. try not to worry too much (easier said than done i know)
