I think this is a miscarriage but the doctor can't confirm yet

I'm currently 7 weeks and 6 days pregnant. Last period was definitely on 22 August. I'm pretty sure I'm miscarrying but the doctor won't confirm at this stage.

My cycle was a bit messed up as I had a missed miscarriage in approx May. My last period before the pregnancy was 35 days long.

I've had 2 normal pregnancies - and might have had a very early miscarriage between those two. Last two pregnancies were missed miscarriages that were found at 11 and 12 weeks.

So I was really happy to get a positive pregnancy test this time but then started bleeding yesterday. Went to this hospital last night. They said bleeding doesn't necessarily mean a miscarriage - but I feel like it's an extremely bad sign. The scan showed I'm only 5 weeks pregnant. They could see the sac but not what was in it as it is too early. I have to have another scan next Friday to see if the sac has grown.

I think I'm after having another missed miscarriage and that the pregnancy stopped itself at 5 weeks and is just showing itself now with bleeding .

The Doctor said the cervix is closed which is a good sign.

There is a chance I am only 5 weeks pregnant if my cycle was messed up. I can't remember the day I got the positive pregnancy test - but it was at least the 25th of September and was one that detects pregnancy early. All test before that were negative.

To be honest if I didn't know I was pregnant I'd be thinking I was having a light period. This really doesn't look good. It's a good bit of blood - but the doctor said some women bleed a lot and go on to have normal pregnancies

I hate having a glimmer of hope as I feel it's all for nothing

Hi PagesOfABook - I'm a first-timer myself so no words of wisdom, I'm afraid, though these pages are full of women who had bleeding early on and date confusion and went on to have healthy babies, so you'll find loads of reassurance I'm sure! But just wanted to say I'm sorry you're going through this worry, and there are lots of us in similar boats, so even though that's not much consolation, you're certainly not alone - and whichever way it goes you'll find lots of support here x

I started light spotting on 9 Oct, woke up went toilet wiped and saw pink discharge. Went straight to A&E saw doctor did urine sample it was tested positive for pregnancy and a urine infection, given antibiotics. He sent me to the EPU had a scan which dated me at 5-6 weeks I thought I was 7. Said everything looked normal sac was there measuring 12.9mm but could see nothing else as too early. They did say I had two small fibroids in my uterus. Booked another scan for 23rd but since then still spotting still only when I wipe and not visible on pad. No pain at all. There has been a few tiny black clots. The waiting is awful especially as I had a miscarriage last year.

Well it is a miscarriage for me after all. I passed the pregnancy sac and a lot of blood earlier today. I relieved this miscarriage happened now instead of it being missed and only discovering it when I was 11 or 12 weeks.

Will have to try again. It so frustrating now waiting for the weeks to pass until I ovulate and then if I do get pregnant waiting for the weeks to pass to see if I miscarry

Really hope it's not a miscarriage I bleed throughout my pregnancy with no2 any time I went to hospital they said it was a threatened miscarriage and that I needed to take things easy make sure u are resting and fingers crossed all is OK for u :)
