Pregnant or not?

I'm new here so excuse any mistakes I make but here's my problem ;
I have been ttc for the last 10 years (new partner from elder kids) and we had almost given up. My cycle was usually all over the place and we thought it was never going to happen. Then I went on the pill for a year while I had medical treatment (long story not relevant here). 4 -5 months ago I stopped the pill and my cycle went back to 30-32 days regularly (compared to before) I'm now 9 days late and I have done a clear blue test with week indicator. The test said positive but the number of weeks didn't show up. My gp didn't think another test was necessary and referred me to the antenatal services but I did another clear blue, which came back negative?! Still no af 5 days later but I'm worried I might not be really pregnant (despite some symptoms that could be psychological) which test do I trust? I'm checking for a bleed every time I go to pee (every hour it feels like) I'm driving myself and my husband nuts and the gp doesn't feel blood tests were necessary. Any advice ladies? Please?!Confused

Try a few more tests, different brands etc. I Hope this your month.

False positives are extremely rare.

Have you tried a standard non digital test? Have read on here about people having problems with the digital ones saying negative when positive and vice versa.

MummyBex1985 · 13/10/2015 21:45

Wow. Sorry to hear you've been trying so long!

Can you get a non digital pink dye test like a first response?

I don't trust the digis after getting a BFN at 6 weeks PG! The dye tests should give you some comfort Smile the digi could be faulty so FX for you.

Go get a first response, they're very sensitive and if you got a positive on a digi you should get a nice clear positive on a first response. False positives are very rare, but digital tests are a bit fickle as they aren't as a sensitive.

Make sure your testing first thing in morning as well x

Redlette667 · 13/10/2015 22:15

The positive test was first thing in the morning the negative was afternoon. I will get a first response tomorrow and test the morning after, keeping everything crossed.

Well false negatives are much more common than false positives. You're probably pregnant! Grin

i'd try a FRER they are always more reliable
