I think i may be losing some show, not v. much but enough to notice. This is my 3rd pregnancy btw. am 22wks 4days.
Feel totally daft asking but, should i call someone? or should i stop worrying????

I'm no expert, and I'm sure someone will be along soon, but if I were you I would call your practitioner just to be sure, expecially if it's a bloody show.

generaldogsbody1 · 03/12/2006 21:21

Its not bloody, just that unmistakeble snotty concistency. Sorry about crap spelling lol.

It may have something to do with my only having had ds2 12 months ago.

I thought I'd lost my mucus plug at 23 weeks with ds. I went to my gyn - turns out it wasn't the mp, but he did diagnose some cervical thinning (the snotty stuff didn't have anything to do with that, though). I would say get it checked out - likely it's nothing but it won#t do you or the baby any good to be worrying about it.

lulumama · 03/12/2006 21:27

i would call the midwife and get checked out....might mean nothing..but losing the show can be a sign of dilation...unlikely early on,but does need discounting.

also, discharge does increase in pregnancy..are you sure it is not discharge?

agree with FIT...put your mind at rest......

generaldogsbody1 · 03/12/2006 21:29

Can I ask what, if anything they did for the cervical thinning FIT?

I do have reason for asking

are you ok , general......?

generaldogsbody1 · 03/12/2006 23:06

I'm fine have lost a bit more snotty stuff about the size of a pea, just kinda wondering, If it is MP then summat' mus be going on???

lulumama · 03/12/2006 23:10

the only circs i know of it occuring are cervical dilation....are you thinking maybe you need to have cervical stitch? if you are anxious, you must speak to the midwife.......can you call the labour ward and speak to someone...any pain or fluid loss or just the snotty stuff?

generaldogsbody1 · 03/12/2006 23:15

I've had two wet patches on knickers, though i reckon that was wee

Just the snotty stuff other than that...

I would get yourself checked out. I had a show at about 20 weeks but I did not realise at the time what it was. And I did have painless dilation. Not necessarily same with you of course but best to get checked. For thinning of the cervix, depending on how thin it was, they would probably recommend a cervical stitch, as mentioned by lulumama. Or perhaps bedrest.

Believe it or not I am 22+4 today too!

generaldogsbody1 · 03/12/2006 23:18

ok..amniotic fluid smells different to wee...sweeter....

i;d call the labour ward,, and they can check that the fluid isn't amntiotic .....at this stage..it is preferable it is wee!

hope you get on ok..am off to bed now...but do call and get some reassurance....xx

generaldogsbody1 · 03/12/2006 23:20

cheers lulu, and congrats snip
