Advice for extremely sore and swollen gums during pregnancy

Hi, I'm 32 weeks pregnant with baby no.3 and am experiencing extremely sore inflamed gums to the point I can't even eat :( I've never had this pregnancy symptom before with this one or the previous two and am at a loss as to what I can do for it, my first instinct would have been to take ibuprofen for it to reduce the inflammation but of course I can't as I'm in my third trimester now. I'm still trying my best to clean my teeth twice a day and using antiseptic mouthwash but nothing seems to be helping :( any advice would be much appreciated!

Is it sore in one particular place or is it random? I've had what I thought were sensitive/swollen gums, only to find out that it was a cracked filling with a decay forming underneath, which didn't cause constant pain, but would come and go.

Maybe go see a dentist to rule other things out and see if they can recommend anything?

You have my sympathies, swollen gums are no fun Flowers

I had a check up at the dentist last month, and she said to go back if any problems with bleeding or sore gums (likely to be pregnancy gingivitis). And it's free!

Just go to your dentist, they'll clean them up and check you over. It's all free, too :)

My gums were dodgy with dc2, I looked forward to my 3 monthly clean :)

See dentist and mention it to mw.

A relative had this and suffered from pre-eclampsia. Could be unconnected but please get it checked sooner rather than later.

No definitely not anything like that, the pain is in random patches all over my mouth and you can see upon looking how puffy and red my gums look. It's making me miserable right now :( thank you for the advice! I shall make both a dentist and a midwife appt asap :)
