Twitchy belly!

I was just wondering, before I start getting all worried if anyone else has experienced this and what it could be - I am 21 weeks pg and since this morning I have been having strange spasms on and off in the bump area - at first I thought it was the baby kicking because you can actually see the twitches (!) but now I am not so sure cos the movement is quite high up (a little higher that belly button level and to the left) and really rapid. The best way I can think to describe this movement is like when your eye gets twitchy due to tiredness etc. Luckily it doesn't hurt but I really don't know what it could be.... I don't remember having this in my 1st pg. I hope someone can enlighten me!!! Thanks!

Doesn't sound like anything to worry about. Just a muscle tic I would think.

Maybe baby is going to be a drummer- could be arms- tapping hands?? check it with midwife at your next appointment if you are worried- but sounds fine to me... just flutterings.

The baby hiccuping? I remember feeling something like you are describing and thinking that it felt too fast to be hiccups, but the midwife reassured me it was.

im 38 weeks and also have the same thing occasionaly. I seem to get a twitching on one side of my belly. I used to think that the baby was having some kind of fit but lots of people have told me that they also had the same. I dont quite know what the babies doing in there though to be making the movement. Maybe its actually the uterus twitching!!. Hiccups feel like a regular kicking feeling and last about 5 mins or so.

my baby hiccups and it feels exactly like that. u can see it moving, but its too fast and twitchy. like when your eyes does it, like you say, to be a kick. definitely hiccups i would say

Thanks for all your replies! I suppose it could be anything then - however maybe it is just my very lax stomach muscles complaining!!!(Humm, I do prefer the thought of having a little drummer boy (or girl) or hiccups). But it seems to have stopped today!
