32 weeks - back pain and cramps

As title says - I've been experiencing uncomfortable back pain and stomach cramps for the last 12 hours. This is pregnancy no 3 so you'd think I'd know what I was doing by now! I feel really off as well - should I ring my midwife (who doesn't respond well to phone calls at the best of times). My previous 2 weren't early and I also have two under 3s with me so going to get checked out is no easy feat. I just wonder if I'd know if I was in pre term labour?

Can you call the labour ward direct and speak to someone? Then there's no issue with being called back and you'll get the advice you need straight away. Hope all is OK.

I think for your own peace of mind, yes you should ring and see what they advise. Dont feel guilty, the midwife is there to respond to your needs, that is her job.

Honestly it could be any number of things, Constipation/wind/urine or kidney infection so try not to worry. I had swine flu when I was pregnant with my third baby and twisted my gullet with all the vomiting, I was having cramps too and its very scary but she was and is completely fine.

Hi, I'm also 32 weeks and experienced this exact thing a couple of weeks ago. Turned out I had a water infection! Definitely better off being checked over either way though, water infections if left can cause pre term labour. I too thought it was maybe pre term labour as both my girls were born early but thankfully it wasn't just not comfortable at all! Good luck
