38.5 weeks, woke up at 4am with really bad back pains (like bad period pain) got a hot water bottle which eased the pain but I could still feel it in back mainly and partly in stomach. Couldn't go back to sleep for 2 hours, just feeling the pain and thinking is this the start of labour?

Fell asleep again around 6am, woke up feeling normal again (no back pain) - is it just a false alarm? It was such bad back pain, surely it means something! :-(

Hi lady, no real words of wisdom but I wanted to let you know I feel your pain! I've been labour symptom spotting for about a month now, 41+2 today and still no real signs that she's on the way! The back pain sounds like it could be a good sign that things are warming up though, and you sound ready to meet your LO so fingers crossed for you it happens soon Smile

Thanks for the reply bluey, I was so sure this morning that this was it. Not an inkling of period pain today at all though!

Sometimes my Braxton hicks really really hurt and I get all excited.... This has also been happening for a few weeks.

Ah it's rubbish isn't it. Everyone says 'you'll know' but you don't!

I seem to remember getting bad back pain on and off for a couple of days before my labour started, so hopefully it's a good sign for you. Good luck!

Aw, hope it is a good sign for you! I'm 38 +2 and on high alert but really nothing to write home about yet. I'd already given birth by this point last time so getting very impatient!

Thanks Metal! It drags doesn't it Turnip? I'm just literally waiting...
