Hey everyone,

Just got my first BFP for our first baby, feeling very excited but also nervous and researching as much stuff as possible as obv completely new to this! Would be great to hear from anyone else in the same situation to share stories/advice :-) I'm 29 years old.

Yes, me! Got my bfp yesterday, tested again this morning to make sure! I'm 28 and this is my first

Rose2806 · 10/10/2015 11:09

Hi Phwoggy!

I got mine last night, was supposed to wait until today but couldn't wait that long! So excited I didn't sleep much! Need to try and find a good book, do you have one yet?

Congratulations all! I got my first BFP yesterday too - after four years of trying and first round of IVF! I'm ridiculously excited but also terrified because of the long journey it took to get here. I'm praying it's all going to be ok! I cried on the phone when the clinic called me yesterday as I had no idea it was going to be positive. I don't feel pregnant at all! I just can't believe it. I never thought it was going to happen.

Osirus · 10/10/2015 11:39

Oh, and I'm 33.

AuntieStella · 10/10/2015 12:01

Congratulations!

The chat thread is over here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2473774-June-2016-Babies

(If you look at how busy that pregnancy chat topic is, you'll see why it's separate. All other pregnancy issues would be crowded out of this topic otherwise).

Osirus · 10/10/2015 12:03

Thank you! I knew it was here somewhere!

Phwoggy · 10/10/2015 15:13

I don't have anything yet, think I can't believe it's real and don't want to buy anything until it's definite!

Rose2806 · 10/10/2015 15:26

Thanks for the link Stella

Wow congrats Osirus, it must feel amazing after all of that :-)

I know I keep feeling like it's not real, also crazy aware of my tummy even though it's not actually feeling anything at the moment!!

Hi all :-)

We got our first bfp for our first baby on Thursday.....so excited! Congratulations to everybody else too!

I had a couple of odd symptoms over the past week (bad travel sickness, sore boobs for longer than normal) but didn't really put two and two together but something told me to take a test on Thursday and I almost fell over when it came up with two lines almost immediately....I've done seven tests in two days!

I've got What to Expect When You're Expecting but haven't really had the chance to read much of it yet.

I am about 4 weeks 3 days I think (just from online due date calculators) and am 27 :-)

Anybody feeling sicky yet? I have been but I'm sure it must be in my head!

Stripes1983 · 11/10/2015 09:31

Hi ladies - jumping on board as I need to talk about it to anyone else than OH! I got our BFP on weds , I'm 32 this will be #1 and been ttc since February , congratulations to you all ! I'm due 4th June and about 6 weeks according to app! Have any of you told people yet? It's killing me not to tell my best friend and mom but don't want to incase I tempt fate and something goes wrong!

Stripes1983 · 11/10/2015 09:32

Oh and chick ive felt a bit nauseous but more on the evenings but not sure if that's because I've been so anxious / excited !

E11Chick · 11/10/2015 10:38

Hey stripes! Congrats :-) we told my parents just because we spend a lot of time with them and they would soon notice me not drinking etc. Actually when I told my mum she said she thought I was a few days ago which was before I even found out! Not telling anybody else until we've the first scan though.....I'm going to try to keep it from my best friend but I think she'll guess when I see her next too

Stripes1983 · 11/10/2015 13:29

I feel like everyone knows , when I saw my Best friend the other day I didn't know what to say to her as I felt bad for not telling her ! And she knows I went for blood tests to check I was ovulating and so asked me how the results went! I was on a hen do last night and had to pretend I was on tablets - I hate lying though ! Anyone else feeling worried about miscarrying or it just me being crazy ?:)

Heavenscent86 · 11/10/2015 13:50

Hi I'm a bit further on than you ladies but what to expect when you're expecting is a good read (just pick out the bits that are appropriate to you and skip the chapter on complications unless you are told you have one or you'll scare yourself silly) and I also have the rough guide to pregnancy which is a lovely lighthearted read to go alongside it. I do also have your new pregnancy bible which is very comprehensive and has photos of baby each week which is lovely but I find it a bit of a textbook style read so generally prefer the others.

Heavenscent86 · 11/10/2015 13:52

Oh and the worry about miscarrying is absolutely normal but try to remember that statistically you have far more chance of a good healthy pregnancy than a miscarriage.

E11Chick · 11/10/2015 14:01

I'm also worrying about a miscarriage, I agree Heavenscent I think it's pretty normal too! I have the what to expect book too, seems good from what I've read so far! I also feel like everybody knows and I'm watching what I'm saying all the time, its so hard!

I'm trying really hard just to enjoy it though :-)

Stripes1983 · 11/10/2015 15:12

I'll have to have a look at those books heaven thanks for the tips! I go through stages of thinking what will be will be and I should just plan like everything will be ok then other days ( seems like so much longer than 5 days since I found out!!) where I think don't get carried away!

SliceofLemon · 11/10/2015 15:36

Hello everyone. I just found out I was pregnant on Friday! So just 4 weeks today. 26 years old expecting #1. Keep yo-yoing from really excited to really worried about mc. Trying to just relax. Have been completely useless about not telling people! Already told parents, sister and two best friends. Symptom wise sore boobs and dull lower back ache and like some of you, a little nausea but might be imagining it! Anyone else got back ache? Oh and have already ordered what to expect! Fx not tempting fate!

Derbygirl37 · 11/10/2015 16:09

Hi all, I got my BFP this morning!! Been trying since the beginning of June. I'm 38 and this will be my first. So excited but also nervous! I'll be 4 weeks on Tuesday xx

E11Chick · 11/10/2015 16:41

Congrats SliceofLemon and Derbygirl :-)

I am also getting a dull lower back ache as well as sore and swollen boobs.

I said I wouldn't tell everybody but it feels like I've been keeping the secret forever and its only been 4 days!! X

SliceofLemon · 11/10/2015 16:54

Congrats Derbygirl! Glad to hear we're in the same boat E11Chick. When are you guys going to go to doctors?

Stripes1983 · 11/10/2015 17:17

Congrats all and same here chick it was only earlier I realised its only been 5 days - it's going to be a long 6 weeks !( fingers crossed!)

Sardi28 · 11/10/2015 17:38

Congratulations all of you lovely ladies! Flowers

I got my BFP two weeks ago and I've been stalking MN to find someone in the same boat as me since!

I'm now 6 weeks 2 days , have very sore boobs, very tired and feel a bit sicky when I'm hungry. (Like you lot, I don't know if this is in my head or not) Confused

We have told imediate family and I have told my best friend as she is 8 weeks Preggo too!

Thanks for all the tips on books, I've yet to order any, as I am scared something will go wrong. Fingers crossed for sticky embryos for all of us Smile

Oh. this will be our first I'm 28 and been TTC since Jan 15

E11Chick · 11/10/2015 19:10

It is isn't it Stripes!

Thanks and congrats Sardi!

Fingers crossed for all of us!! Smile xx

Phwoggy · 11/10/2015 19:58

My only symptom over the last couple of weeks was indigestion but thought nothing of it until I missed my period! I wasn't even really expecting a BFP as I only came off the pill in August so thought my body was still settling down.

Strangely on Tuesday my Aunty gave me a baby blanket a relative had knitted for my cousin years ago, massive coincidence!

I'll have a look at some of the books mentioned.
