Hi all
I've had 2 scans done yesterday with diff results.
The first hospital told me, my foetus is at 5 weeks & heartbeat was normal & although im 8 weeks, this is normal. I found it hard to swallow following a scan i did earlier on the week at a private hospital.
I went back to the same private hospital & show the gynae the results.
He said that cant be right. Did another scan & he says see, the heartbeat is still weak, & at 8 weeks the foetus has only grown to 0.5 cm which is not healthy. It shd be at 2cm. The so called "double" yolk sacs are not healthy either. As this is my first pregnancy at 36, & 2nd miscarriage in a spate of 3 months, i feel more confused & devastated at the moment. Gyane keep mentioning it could be also due to my age which i didnt think was right to hear at that moment.
Has anyone experienced this before?
Thanks:)
Debby

Are you in the UK?
Personally, I have never had a heartbeat before 6 weeks, so something doesn't add up to me. But when measuring such tiny foetuses via ultrasound, it is very easy to be slightly out which makes a big difference to dates.
What did your scan last week show? And why so many scans? Is there an issue?

Hope you get some good news in a few weeks.

Hey
I'm in Singapore. My first scan was at 6 weeks but nothing was detected.
I had a scan at 7 weeks again & it was then detected on the irregular heartbeat & small foetus.
I went to get a 2nd opinion yestday but it showed a healthy pregnancy. So confused i went back to the same private doctor(as the 6 weeks scan) , he still maintained that a d&c should be done next week if the foetus doesn't grow beyond 2cm as its not healthy. I had a miscarriage(natural) in July this year & was wondering if it was too soon to try again.
