Exercise in pregnancy with back injury. Any ideas, please?

About a month before conceiving I sustained a back injury. The injury is muscular, it will heal but will take time.

I walk regularly but am really missing other forms of exercise. I used to practise yoga regularly, but my doctor has vetoed this due to the nature of the injury. Swimming and pilates would be out for the same reason for the time being.

Grasping at straws here, but I'm feeling really really sluggish and gross and in need of exercise, and would like some variety from walking. Any ideas or inspiration? Reaching, lifting, pulling, throwing etc are the movements I most need to avoid - basically using my back and upper arms, then. Hmm

I'm approaching the end of the first trimester, so mobility isn't restricted by much in the way of a bump at the moment.

Maybe I'm just stuck with walking, but if anyone has alternative suggestions I would so grateful!

TIA

Ah you poor thing! I was going to suggest Pilates, sorry.

What I would suggest is my (very brilliant) Pilates instructor is also a rehabilitation therapist - so really skilled at working within the medical requirements and what an individual patient can and can't do (I'm heavily pregnant with previous spinal fracture, osteoporosis, joint problems etc. - things that are largely fine when my weight is kept down but a bit more problematic these days Grin and because of her I'm doing a huge amount more than I would on my own). So in that situation I would probably see if there's someone like that in your area who you could book in with for a consultation?

That's a good idea StAlphonso thank you I'll look into it.
