Started to feel tired of being pregnant now...just want to see my baby. I had there are many natural ways to try and encourage baby to come...tried sex, walking, spicy food. It appears my baby is enjoying him/herself in my stomach and is not ready to come...so trying to keep busy doing other things...but I just can't wait to meet my baby and have a sibling for my older child

Have you twiddled your nipples? Brings on epic Braxton hicks and ca start labour.

Tried it...but got Braxton hicks and that was it. Tried orgasmic sex, walking, spicy food...im now resigned to the view that nothing works...and baby will come when he or she is ready...n I will just have to be patient and find ways to distract myself...arrrgh

Workingmum473 I feel the same as you and I'm only 36 weeks!! I have a 5yo DS, and I'm starting to struggle walking him to school in the morning/picking him up. He's a total ditherer and is now walking quicker than me and trying to drag me along the pavement! Grin

I was 8 days overdue with my DS, tried everything and nothing worked unfortunately. The pineapple, gym ball, walking, spicy food, sex, you name it! I just know I'm going to be overdue this time too but luckily I only have next week to work. Then I'm just going to take advantage of my very uncomfortable free time!

Nothing works. Nothing at all. You can have sex and eat spicy food and pineapple if you want but it won't induce labour. Babies come when they are ready, somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks and really, you wouldn't have it any other way. Nothing short of chemical induction will start labour for you. You do risk making yourself uncomfortable or giving yourself heartburn, stomach ache etc by pursuing some methods and you still won't be in labour.

I know the end bit can be miserable and you feel like you're under pressure to perform and fed up. However, you should just do whatever you want. If you want to sleep or sit or eat cake or cry or watch a dvd or swear at the cat, then do it. Don't feel like you need to be running around trying to induce labour. You can't. That bit will take care of itself. Just take care of yourself for now.

I'm with you OP. I'm 39+1 and really want baby to arrive now. It's not so much that I can't wait to meet him but more to do with the fact that I am in constant pain. I have PGP and feel like I have been constantly kicked in the groin. The head is part way engaged but I have only had braxton hicks so far (been having them for months). If I could walk and lie down without being in agony I would be happy to wait a little while longer.
