Constant diarrhoea this pregnancy

Since I got pregnant I've had diarrhoea pretty much every day. Occasional constipation too just to make it interesting.

I know pregnancy messes your body up in a variety of ways but this didn't happen to me last time and I just wanted to know if anyone else has been affected in a similar way? And how did you cope? And when did things start to settle down again? I'm 14 weeks.

Provided that you haven't had a temp/ fever or pain then its just the hormones... pregnancy sure is delightful
And make sure that you drink plenty (I'm sure you know all of this anyway)

Yup. That's me (sometimes it's my IBS) but a 'normal' day is like this. It has got a bit better as my nausea subsided ... not completely gone and now follows heartburn.

I have had diarrhea throughout my pregnancy (39weeks now) and it does not seem to be easing....im hoping that once baby comes it will ease

Sorry OP, I've had it throughout my pregnancy and I'm 37+3. I'm hoping it will go once baby is born!

I'm 28 weeks and had this one and off throughout so I feel your pain! I find it worse when I eat healthy things (fruit, veg etc.) but you have to eat so just try and get on with it. Make a note of what you eat and what the results of that are and maybe you can cut out things that trigger it off worse!

I'm relieved to see this. I'm 23 weeks and have been suffering on and off throughout. I've seen lots of posts about constipation and was worried that there might be something wrong if it's going the other way. Good to know I'm not alone!

Oh dear! Thanks for all your replies. Hard to pick and choose what to eat - there's so little I fancy that I just eat what I want when I want without thinking. I guess that's part of the problem. My midwife said as long as I'm keeping fluids down then not to worry too much. Exhausting though, isn't it? Sad

Same, had it throughout with the odd bout of constipation. Midwife said sometimes ppl react this way and it's what's normal for you
