TMI ALERT

22 weeks. Had an itch on my outer labia, felt a lump, had a look, 2 pea size purple lumps (look like blood blisters). Traumatised and just eaten 2 jam doughnuts to calm down, 1 for each lump. WTF are they?

In growing hairs? Bartolins (sp) cyst? Blood blister? Could be a number of things, none of them much of an issue- Google for pics and see if it looks like yours.

I think you can get haemorrhoids there during pregnancy..sorry!

Piles don't appear on the labia!

ALR123 · 05/10/2015 22:15

Hate to tell you this but I had the exact same thing and posted a thread earlier today as I just got diagnosed with genital warts today! Am married and never had any symptoms before this so was a total shock but apparently the virus can lie dormant for yrs but getting pregnant and a change in immune system can make them come out. I had tiny very small little red lump appear on my labia which got bigger then turned more white. Then i got a few more appear around my bum.. Worth the doctor checking you out it could be something totally different. Good luck x

I've had a good look, I can't see any veins connecting to them. I've since found a tiny brown dot nearby that looks like a tiny mole and then on the other side 3 more brown dots but none are raised like the 2 big ones.

Vulval varicose veins , I was lucky enough to get them in pregnancy ShockBlush, thank god they disappear as soon as you give birth .

Piles don't appear on the labia!

I hate to tell you but they do - and there's a thread about them here - I had them in my second pregnancy, very uncomfortable, they ached and itched.

But I'm not saying this is what OP has.

eurochick · 05/10/2015 22:26

That's not a pile. Piles are by definition elsewhere. It's a varicose vein. And yes, they are fairly common on the vulva during pregnancy. But they don't sound like what the OP is describing.

purplemeggie · 05/10/2015 22:39

I get the Bartholins cysts from time to time and it does sound like that - they can be itchy and a little painful if they're large. Get it checked out by your GP. If it is a Bartholin cyst, you may not need any treatment - you can just massage them a bit in the shower and they usually drain by themselves.

NoonAim · 08/10/2015 20:08

Yes, you're right eurochick, they are different.

I had shingles in that area, it was very painful as well as itchy. Could it be that?

Rufus200 · 08/10/2015 20:34

I've been to the Dr and they are blood blisters caused by venous congestion, nothing to do with varicose veins but I am more likely to develop them as the circulation is poor down there. They are unlikely to disappear on their own and I may get more. Will have to have burnt off after baby arrives.
