I'd appreciate any help on what to do - I have loads of ulcers on my tongue and they are sooooooo painful. I am 6 weeks pregnant - anyone know why I am getting them and what I can do about them? Thanks!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I may be wrong, so please check, but someone told me they can be due to a deficiency of one of the B vitamins.

Don't apologise, just didn't want you to miss it.
Bloomin' sore though aren't they?

One of the best things I have found for mouth ulcers is to rinse mouth out with warm salt water, about 1 tspn to a glassful. Don't swallow it, but keep in mouth for 20 seconds or so then spit out. Repeat til glass empty, as and when necessary. I found this took the edge off the pain, and they healed up much more quickly than anything else I've tried.

I suffer from ulcers and the only thing I have found which gets rid of them is adcortyl in oralbase. It's a bit thick and pasty so difficult to make it stay on your tongue but I would definitely recommend giving it a shot, and I asked the dr when I got pg and it is still ok to use it. You probably have to ask for it over the counter.

Hope they get better! They are awful, I often get them on the back of my throat! I'm not sure there is much you can do to prevent them.

Good luck!

bumperlicious thanks - i got some this weekend and they are definitely improving. hope yours are in abeyance at the moment... i agree there is nothing to be done about getting them, and the pharmacist said it is asymptom of pregnancy she sees often x
