Coat

Will you buy a maternity coat? Am due in end of dec. so realistically only need a coat for 3months. Am seriously wondering whether it is worth it. Most of the maternity coats I've seen online seem to be around the £99 mark which seems excessive for 3 months - it is warm in London. Am able to squeeze into my biker leather jacket but not into any macs.

I have a coat in a size larger than my pre pregnancy size but the cut doesn't work. Has anyone found at sympathetic non maternity coat which would for a 3rd trimester bump?

I'm due in March. I bought one for about £25 on the Asos sale and just bought a mac-style one on the outlet section at JoJo Maman for £10. Both seem huge at the moment so hoping bump will grow rapidly so I can wear them without them looking like tents!

I just bought the maternity parka from h&m. It was only £40 and I'm hoping that post baby I might be able to at least partly do it up over baby in sling.

I had one from asos as well. Was particularly useful for doing up over baby in the sling - it was much colder once she was born than it had been when I was pregnant.

Am due January, so am in a similar position to you.
I'm not buying one, I can't afford to spend such money on something I'll only wear for a matter of weeks (oh to be like the poster above who can use the phrase "only £40." Only?!)

But, perhaps more importantly, I know I don't need one. When I was pregnant with Ds I bought a Red Herring maternity coat from Debenhams and it was so shit that it instantly fell apart. Can't risk that again.

So. This time round I'll be wearing my DH's giant Decathlon waterproof with a jumper underneath, my usual parka unfastened with a big scarf, or my ordinary winter coat with a few buttons undone. It'll be fine, it's only a few weeks.

I'm getting one. Due in January. New Look do a nice one that's only £40.

Never bought a maternity coat. I just used my normal ones. The double breasted one worked particularly well with a scarf.

I was due mid-December.

London isn't cold, especially if you're travelling on the tube etc.
