growth scan?

I had my 36 week appointment today and my baby has gone from 80th centile to the 92nd centile in the past month.

I'm over weight and I also have cysts in my uterus but I've never been referred for a growth scan. I'm a bit concerned now because he's measuring over the 90th centile, should I ask about a growth scan or will they fob me off?

When you say you went up a centile, was that by scan or by bump measurement? The latter is soooo inaccurate, I wouldn't believe it. Also, at this stage, all your baby is doing is growing. If your midwife wasn't concerned, then I don't think you need to worry. I'd ask your mw at the next appointment, if you are worried about the size of the baby.

I think that's probably okay, your midwife would send you for a scan if she was concerned. I had a 36 week growth scan so more accurate than over the bump and I've went from 50th centile to over 90th in 6 weeks and no one seemed concerned so I think you will be fine, if your worried though just mention it to your midwife she should be able to put your mind at ease.

1 in 10 babies is over the 90th centile. My experience is dd1 measured 50th throughout but was actually below the 10th. Dd2 measured 30th and was actually 50th. My sil also was convinced she was having babezilla by bump measurements and her ds was 7lb2 Hmm

My experience is that you have to measure above the 90th percentile on bump measurement twice in order to be referred for a growth scan.
