Hi I am coming on here in need of the kindness of strangers. I have recently discovered I am pregnant and after a long harrowing decision I have decided that I am unable to go ahead with this pregnancy. I have been in contact with womanontheweb in regards to getting the abortion pill delivered to NI as Ireland will seize the package at customs. I have been informed of the Poste Restante option but I am deeply afraid that this will not work. I have just started a new job which demands long hours and commitment and I do not want to have to ask for a day off so soon in order to collect the package in NI. I am hoping that someone will be able to help me in having the package delivered to them (a debt I could never repay) and then sent down to me here in Ireland, as I am at a loss of what to do. Thank you.

I live in NI and I'm not sure you would get it through. And I think it's risky either way asking someone to have something delivered to their house which could potentially get them in trouble. You might be better getting this moved the the pregnancy choices thread as someone there may help you but I don't think it's sensible to ask people online to have abortion pills delivered.

There's a few organisations in NI who you could contact as they may be able to advise and help you but I don't know any of them. Would it not be possible to travel to England for a medical abortion supervised ?

Una06 · 30/09/2015 17:44

I have moved it to that thread. Thank you.

You need to hit report and ask for not to be moved

I cannot help you Una as I don't live in NI but just wanted to say that I am really sorry for what you are going through and that it is shocking that in 2015 women like yourself are having to resort to such measures to be able to exercise control over your own body. Hope you are okay. Flowers

Can you visit the Marie Stopes clinic in Belfast? I'm in NI and would accept the parcel if it was legal, but this sort of thing is better done with medical supervision. Could you get travel insurance and then visit an A&E across the border? Grasping at straws...

Hi thank you for your comments. It's nice to know that people are supportive and not judgmental. I would not be asking for help if I was not desperate. As I have just started a new job I am not in a position to request time off as of yet. But yes that would be my ideal choice to get it done correctly with supervision. I have not taken the abortion pill route easily and have done a lot of research and it seems to safe, of course there can be complications but I will make arrangements for this just in case too.

I am in NI and I would help, but it is illegal here too and I just cannot take the risk of getting caught up in this at the minute.

I hope you get the help and support you need. It is awful that this is the reality for people here in 2015.

CarShare · 30/09/2015 19:40

Please be careful- medical supervision is really important. I'm a pharmacist and would be really concerned that should things go wrong you could be in a tricky predicament. Take time off work (ring in sick if you need to) and get appropriate medical care. It's rubbish you're in this position- hope it works out well Flowers

Thanks everyone. Fingers are still crossed I will find someone to help me.

Long time lurker, I finally registered today because I am in NI and more than happy to help in any way I can. I'll send you a message now with my address. To the pp suggesting Marie Stopes, they are only able to operate within the very tight legal framework here, ie they can only offer help if Una's life is at risk. This whole situation makes me so bloody angry.

To the last poster. On behalf of Irish women everywhere thank you for helping. I can't as I live in the UK. It's great to see some solidarity ...
