Accidentally drank air freshener - help?!

Hey everyone, as the title explains I'm a bit worried as I've accidentally drank some diluted air freshener :( :(

Basically somebody sprayed air freshener in a small room where I'd left a pint of water without my knowing - I came back to the room a little while later and took a huge drink (almost the entire pint) before I realised the water tasted AWFUL.

I'm now super worried as I'm not sure how much of the chemicals I ingested but it was obviously enough for it to drastically change the taste of the water. I know it probably wasn't enough to do me any harm but I'm worried about my baby - I'm 15 weeks now and am desperately grappling at the movements I've been feeling but haven't felt any yet this morning. I've drunk some more water since it happened in the hope of flushing the toxins through but I'm terrified I've hurt my baby. :(

Am I being silly or should I call the hospital? I'm really worried. :( Thanks guys x

So you haven't drunk air freshner? You've drunk a pint of water that was in a room when air freshner was being sprayed? That's not the same thing at all.

You will be fine. The baby will be fine.

.....and at 15 weeks many people haven't felt any movements and you can go for days without feeling anything because the baby is so small.

I really wouldn't worry! Deep breaths...

Alarmist title there op

PosterEh · 29/09/2015 11:29

I never felt any movement til about 22 weeks and now they never bloody stop moving.

Jasmine12 · 29/09/2015 11:36

You almost gave me a heart attack OP !!

Chill, I think you will be ok. Speak to your midwife if you need reassurance.

PotteringAlong · 29/09/2015 11:37

And if you do call the midwife / hospital please don't tell them you've drunk air freshner!

ceejoy · 29/09/2015 11:43

It's just possible you're overreacting. You've ingested about as much as you would inhale walking through the room if not less.

Deathtomoonsand · 29/09/2015 11:47

If you can smell air freshener, you are breathing it in.

Is there any reason to think you drank more of it than you would have inhaled if you had walked through the mist.

You are fine, have a fag and a whisky, some smelly cheese and relax!

Thanks everyone, and apologies for the title. I'm absolutely terrified about everything with this pregnancy, which is weird as its my second and I was so laid back with my first.

I'll try to not panic so much and chill out...I know really I'm probably overreacting but as I said I'm so panicked in this pregnancy generally :/ Thanks again x

I thought you meant you'd picked one up and drank it neat or something!
Don't count on movements this early, I'm almost 17 weeks and haven't felt anything at all yet - not worried.
As a PP said, you'll have taken in just as much, if not less, as you would have inhaled just walking through the room.
If you ant to call your midwife to settle your mind then do it, but I wouldn't see an issue there personally.

PotteringAlong · 29/09/2015 13:03

I think if you're terrified to the level of ingesting some sprayed air freshener then a chat with your midwife might be in order about your anxiety levels.
