Induction

I'm being induced with my twins.

I was due to have my first lot of Prostin yesterday afternoon/evening but the babies decided to have a party and their HB was sky high so it was 1am before they'd calmed down enough to let me have it.

I've had 3 hours sleep and been woken to have them monitored to make sure they are both still happy. They are.

I had convinced myself it wouldn't work, but since I've been woken I have period type pain which has progressed to regular tightenings. They aren't very painful but they're definitely noticeable enough to stop me getting back to sleep. I also have the runs (sorry, but hurrah!).

I'm due another examination at 6:30 with a view to breaking my waters or giving me another dose of Prostin depending how things are progressing.

I can't wait to meet my babies. Fingers crossed.

Thank you for the kind wishes ladies!

After being examined this morning my cervix had started to dilate but hadn't shortened so they couldn't break my waters. They also couldn't give me another pessary because I was contracting every 2/3 mind and they didn't want to over stimulate my uterus and potentially stress the babies out. They sent me for a slow walk, a lavender bath and gave me painkillers to try to slow the contractions so they could give me another pessary.

I had this at 12.15 and had a few niggles, I've been dancing around and bouncing on a birthing ball and I've just had a show so I'm confident I'm dilating properly now.

I'm due to be examined again in about half an hour so fingers crossed they'll be able to break my waters this time! Grin

Any news? Hope you're ok

RockerMummy184 · 30/09/2015 09:31

Well, after 3 days of failed induction I was give an EMCS last night.
The twins were born at 21:18 and 21:19.
They weighed a very healthy 5lb 5oz, and 6lb 6oz, which we are so happy with!
I will post a complete update of what happened when I'm not quite so knackered and emotional! Grin
Thanks for all of your support and well-wishes everyone, especially Gilly and kicked, It really means a lot. Flowers
