Hello

My friend needs your help, she is type two diabetic controlled by tablets and is quite overweight. She has recently found out that she is pregnant (about eight weeks)and is really pleased but also very nervous at the same time.
I think her doctor will make her go on to insulin instead of her tablets.

Any advise for her? At 8 weeks her chances of miscarrying are reduced???

It depends on her BMs and how well she can control the diabetes. If its well controlled then I can't see why she would need to go on insulin.

Her risk of misarriage are the same as anyone else (if the diabetes is well controlled). Normally first12 weeks that the risk is highest.
