Tell me your positive induction stories

I'm currently in hospital waiting for a bed on the High Dependant Unit so I can be induced this evening.

They are planning on starting me with a pessary.
I was induced with DS but as I was already overdue and 1cm dilated they broke my waters and stuck me straight on the drip so labour came on SUPER fast!

The only people I have ever known be given the pessary (my mum and a friend) it's not worked for them, so naturally I'm concerned this is going to take DAYS!

My consultant assures me that with twins everything moves much faster. Just as the horrible pregnancy symptoms are worse because of the increased hormones, labour tends to be faster due to more hormones too.

So, does anyone have any positive stories they'd care to share while I wait around shitting myself for a bed? Smile

Induced early due to complications.

11am - pessary.

2pm - mild period pains.

5pm - still nothing much.

6pm - 3cm dilated, they broke my waters.

7:34pm - baby born!

Grin It was mostly just boring waiting around with the odd twinge until they broke my waters.

Consultant was just as surprised as me, said he'd never seen such a fast induction. Grin

All I'd heard were absolute horror stories about inductions (which I really didn't need as I'd already had my own horror labour with DC1) and I ended up giggling like a loon for few hours after.

Here's hoping yours is as speedy and simple Flowers

Mine was straight forward and quick. Had a pessary the Sunday night which seemed to do nothing so I just got a good night sleep in the hospital that night.
Monday morning 8am second pessary kicked everything off (though I guess pessary one must have done something for the second to trigger everything so quickly) baby born at 1:19pm. I'd only heard horror stories too about inductions taking forever and lots of interventions. I had pethadine ( wouldn't recommend that but that was me not liking the spaced out feeling of it all) and gas and air and pushed DD out all by myself. Less then 6 hours from first twinge to baby in arms.
