Anyone else overdue?

40+4 here. Massive and massively fed up. DD was born at T+14, so I suppose I shouldn't be that surprised grumbles incoherently. Thought as this my DC2 I might get lucky and go into labour in a timely fashion. Pay. No such luck!

So is anyone else overdue and fed up? What are you trying to get labour started? I have so far:
Done lots of vigourous housework
Walked lots
Am having curry for dinner
Making poor DH DTD tonight.

Me too Im 40+3, Im fed up but felt more fed up last wk pre due date, Have induction booked for the 5th, I hope it happens before but if not I feel better knowing i have a cut off day!

lauraa4 · 26/09/2015 21:19

I'm 40+3 too and was feeling fine until painful BH started yesterday evening, and won't go away!

I also have an induction booked for the 5th if he doesn't appear by then. I've had three sweeps already so I'm not holding out hope.

ediepop · 26/09/2015 21:20

Hurrah, not just me! Have got a monitoring appointment for the 1st to make sure all ok. Will be refusing induction until T+14, then dunno. Am hoping for a homebirth, but I think the community midwives will not be happy with a HB at so over dates.

Any niggles? I've got absolutely nothing....

I seem to have had a show, and as mentioned in PP very painful Braxton hicks throughout the day and evening that didn't let off until 4am this morning, then restarted 12pm this afternoon. They have only just started to calm down now.

I really hope I don't have them constantly leading up to labour, I'm so tired!

Merlin333 · 26/09/2015 21:53

I havent had a singe twinge either!! I was offered a sweep on due date but declined! Will get offered another at 41 wks but Im not overly keen and hearing you've had 3 unsucessful ones is making me less keen haha

Hopefully with a show and bh things may be heading the right direction for you!

ediepop · 26/09/2015 22:15

lauraa4 ooh sounds promising though. Cross fingers the real deal starts soon.

Sweeps..tbh I think they're a bit of a waste of time if you're showing no other signs. I had 3 as well with DD and it didn't do anything. I think it can help to get things going if you're either about to go into or are already in the early stages of labour. So maybe for lauraa4 it might help?

According to scan dates I'm 40+9. By my calculations I'm 40+3. So past EDD whichever way. The MW go on the scan date. It's DC3 and I was 10 days over with DS1 and 11 days over with DS2 so not surprised. I declined a sweep last week and will decline another offer tomorrow. I will also be declining induction unless there is a medical need for it, especially given the discrepancy over the EDD.

Doje · 26/09/2015 22:52

Me!! 40+3 over here. DS1 was 17 days late so not particularly surprised.

Tried everything last time and none of it worked so I'm just being grumpy and resting up this time round.

Has a midwife appointment yesterday and she couldn't even offer me a sweep as the head's not engaged.

ediepop · 27/09/2015 20:40

doje yy to trying everything last time and mainly being grumpy this time. That said, I am going to get my friend who trained in reflexology to have a crack. If nothing else, it'll be a nice foot rub and a gossip.

Anyone made any progress? BH, shows etc? I've had nothing at all. Big sigh.

OP posts:
Merlin333 · 28/09/2015 09:12

Absolutly NO progress here either .......nothing !!!!!

ediepop · 28/09/2015 11:58

No, nothing to report here either. Am terrified of being induced, which is making me feel stressed, which is not really conducive to going into labour naturally. Bit of a vicious circle really.

ediepop · 28/09/2015 12:23

Ooh oooh! Just had a bit of a show! Nothing to get excited about I know - had shows for weeks before DD was born, but as have had absolutely NOTHING so far, hard not to feel it might be a good sign things are happening at last.

OP posts:
Doje · 28/09/2015 16:07

Nothing to report here either....

Had a consultant appointment today and booked in for a c section on Friday if nothing happens before then. At least the end is in sight!!

ediepop · 28/09/2015 18:31

A section? Did they not offer induction first?
Hope it all kicks off before Friday anyway, and if not, that Friday goes well! Come back and update us anyway. Smile

OP posts:
Doje · 29/09/2015 18:51

Thanks! I was induced last time and despite 3 pessaries, breaking of my waters and the drip I dilated just 1cm and ended up with a c section! So this time I've opted to miss out the induction if I go over and just accept my body doesn't adhere to normal rules and just go straight to section.

Getting closer every day! Any news from anyone else?!

Merlin333 · 29/09/2015 19:06

No updates to add just wandering if it feels like time is standing still for everyone else too?!!!!!

Doje · 29/09/2015 19:22

It's just so frustrating isn't it! I feel like my life is on hold until this baby comes out! I just want to get on with things, and preferably without a giant bump getting in the way!

ediepop · 29/09/2015 21:25

Oh crikey, that doesn't sound like much fun Doje. I can see why you're going straight for a section. And yes I cannot wait to get rid of the giant bump. Constantly underestimating how big I am and bashing into things.

Thought it might all be kicking off today. I erm (TMI?) had bit a 'clear out'. Plus some back ache. Aha! I thought. It's all go now. No such luck. Sad

OP posts:
Doje · 29/09/2015 22:06

You never know what tomorrow will bring edie!

Yy to bumping the bump into things - it hurts! And I hate I can't get close enough to the dinner table to eat properly! Dropping food down my top just adds to the glamorous look I'm rocking right now.....

Merlin333 · 29/09/2015 22:21

ahh disapointing edie! Yep the eating thing is annoying lol along with bending down to pick something up then taking 5 mins to get back up again. My mood changes regularly too yesterday i was all enthusiastic and positive and today I have been feeling sorry for myself and soo bored wander what will be next haha x

ediepop · 29/09/2015 23:16

Oh yeah, the glamour of constantly dropping food on your top. The bending down thing - this is where nearly 3 yr old DD comes in handy. She loves doing little jobs for me... I am exploiting her ruthlessly Grin

Well ladies, he's here! Born 1st October after being bumped to a day earlier for c section.

It is sooooo nice to not be pregnant any more! And even with post c section pain in more mobile now than I was with that bloomin' back pain.

Keep hanging on in there, it's so much better on the other side. And not to mention the lovely cuddly newborn!

How's everyone else doing?

docmcstuffins1 · 04/10/2015 08:57

Congratulations doje!

Poppytime · 04/10/2015 09:39

Congrats doje! Grin

40+2 here - everyone waiting and I'm trying not to get too stressed/grumpy Sad - anyone else in similar position?
