Is increased movement normal in last few weeks?

I know it must be getting cramped in there but I'm getting much bigger movements, like baby is bobbing up and moving across my stomach then bobbing back down again. Is this normal? It's quite strong and intense and happening really quite often during a day. I'm used to a few movements but these are much stronger. I'm 36 weeks

Yeah, I remember this! Then they go quiet in the days before labour, totally freaking you out. You dont need to worry about too much movement anyway, only too little.

They normally say get any change in movements checked out. So reduced movements or sudden change in movements like moving alot more. Better to get checked out right be safe than sorry I'd Fone you maternity assessment unit

Im 39+1 and the last couple of weeks my little one has defo felt more active. Like you've mentioned I think it's lack of space perhaps meaning we can feel the baby more? I've loved it :-).

But yeah if it's a sudden, dramatic change you could give your midwife a call.

Thanks Plonkie, I quite like it occasionally but it feels very strange and sometimes a bit painful, I'm mainly worried in case they are changing position last minute!

Yes! My DS was rolling around pulling all sorts of shapes in the few weeks running up to birth.
