I am 38+4 with DS1 and very excited to meet him so just garnering some opinions really!

Yesterday I was so sick in the morning, puked my porridge up horribly! Along with the quite strong braxton hicks that have ramped up recently, I have also had the runs. Although tbf, I did have a curry last night so that could account for that!

Felt a bit periody earlier but not much. And then a couple of hours ago, I lost my mucus plug :-). So I'm happy things are progressing as they should. I know it could still be a while before labour starts but wondered about people's personal experiences with this! How long after you lost your mucus plug before labour started?

Congrats plonkie I'm so pleased he's finally here for you. It honestly will not be long til he is out and at home. Reading everything it sounds as though you are one incredibly strong and calm lady x loads of Flowers and Cake for you!!!!

If you haven't got it already try witch hazel on your pads... I had a 2nd degree tear and that really helped me xx

Just read whole thread.

Congratulations.

Be prepared for it to hit you in days/weeks/months to come and to be a bit up and down about difficult beginnings. Hit me about five months in with flashbacks etc. Hopefully won't at all for you. But be prepared.

And enjoy those newborn cuddles.

xxx

Congratulations plonkie, sounds tough, but glad all ok in the end. My friend had a follow up a year after the birth to go through what happened on the day, and it helped her deal with and process her traumatic birth, as they sat and went through everything that happened, why and the likelihood of it happening again, worth doing and doesn't need to be that long after.
