After craving runny eggs for the last month I have finally given into my craving and had two slightly runny eggs with chips for my tea tonight. It was heaven especially as I have hg and it's rare I feel like eating anything. I do feel slightly guilty but I know they are salmonella vaccinated and bought fresh today so fingers crossed all will be well. Anyone else given in to runny eggs?

There's no problem at all if you are in the UK and they are lion stamped as they've been vaccinated. So enjoy your eggs!

Blueberry234 · 19/09/2015 20:01

God I had runny eggs a so on get so they were lion stamped

Junosmum · 19/09/2015 20:03

Well done! If only pate wasn't an absolute no no. I'd kill for pate and a bailey's right now. But I wouldn't be able to stop at one!

anythingicando · 19/09/2015 20:04

I didn't give in to them, just carried on eating them as normal - they are fine as long as they're lion stamped. No need to feel guilty - God knows pregnant women are made to feel guilty enough about everything else!

Chchchchangeabout · 19/09/2015 20:07

I do lion stamped runny eggs too x

Heavenscent86 · 19/09/2015 20:20

It seems we are made to feel guilty about everything once pregnant. Oh these eggs were amazing though. I've probably increased my cravings for them now!

I've had runny eggs every day this week...I even started a thread in Chat about how to make perfect ones! Haha!

I've also had half a pint of cider tonight! Shock

Runningupthathill82 · 19/09/2015 21:35

I've eaten runny eggs as normal throughout both my pregnancies. Nothing wrong with it at all. I've also just had a lovely glass of Bordeaux.

bunny85 · 19/09/2015 21:42

I've been having runny eggs for breakfast every single day! No need to feel guilty, as long as they are lion stamped it's fine.

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 19/09/2015 21:54

Agreed. I've eaten lion stamped runny eggs throughout this pregnancy and my last with no problems. I am careful with other rules but the egg one I think is overkill.

docmcstuffins1 · 20/09/2015 08:01

Oooh, I want runny eggs right now! A trip to the shop is in order I think Grin

NicholasName · 20/09/2015 08:03

I have dippy eggs and soldiers yesterday. Never bothered feeling guilty. 3rd pregnancy - have worked out not to sweat the tiny shit anymore. Also eat medium steak still.

eurochick · 20/09/2015 08:04

I had many whilst pregnant the risk are minimal. Enjoy!

donajimena · 20/09/2015 08:10

I thought it was a runny white that was the salmonella risk not the yolk? If they are lion stamped even less so
enjoy

scarednoob · 20/09/2015 08:26

Nhs are supposed to be revising this advice shortly in light of vaccinated hens. Lots of protein for the baby, it's one of the best things you can eat for him/her. Esp if you get the omega 3 ones. enjoy!!

EatSleepWorkRepeat · 20/09/2015 08:38

I think its only a no-no if the white is runny/ snot-like [boak]

Paperblank · 20/09/2015 10:23

Dippy eggs and soldiers is a special kind of heaven for me and my dinner of choice when I'm not sure what I fancy.

Heavenscent86 · 20/09/2015 10:44

Might have to be egg and chips again for me today. Definitely hasn't cured my craving.

yep - runny eggs and a big cup of caffeinated tea pretty much every morning!

notfromstepford · 23/09/2015 16:11

Oh I didn't know about the lion stamp - I've been missing running eggs - going home and having them for tea tonight! Thanks ladies - you've made my day!

Heavenscent86 · 23/09/2015 16:13

You're welcome! Enjoy your runny eggs.

Mmmmm. I was debating over poached eggs with my tea. I think I just decided!

WombOfOnesOwn · 23/09/2015 17:50

I've made raw egg mayo repeatedly during this pregnancy. Most of these restrictions are quite daffy.
