Stupid Things I Have Cried At

Reckon this'll be a good thread for a laugh, even at my own expense, but since I am being ridiculous I probably deserve it.

  1. Radio 2 played 'Star Trekking'. That song usually makes me giggle like a small child. Had me in bits for some reason. Yeah, I don't know why either.
  2. The national anthems during the Rugby World Cup. Not sure whether it's the rousing tunes or seeing muscly dudes getting a bit emotional.

Early on in this pregnancy I found myself weeping (in the cinema no less) at a Coca Cola advert (everyone was so happy). Last week (33 weeks) I cried at a busy bus stop because my bus home didn't turn up..

EdgarAllenPoe · 22/09/2015 13:22

I cried to 'We'll meet again' by Dame Vera Lynn on the radio this week. It is a sad song to be fair!

I always cry when they start flying on the Snowman. I'll be about 38 weeks this Christmas so I'm quite looking forward to being in floods of tears for that.

Worried12 · 22/09/2015 15:51

This is seriously the best thread I've read in so long! I'm actually crying right now reading it, half with laughter and half with genuine tears because it's all so true! At least you're crying at actual things! I just burst into random tears without any given warning!!! My boyfriend thinks I'm mad!
Thanks for giving me a laugh this afternoon and I wish you all luck with the rest of your pregnancies and crying antics! GrinGrinGrin

I cried in triage on Sunday because the midwife asked how many weeks l was. When she asked me why l was crying l said because I'm pregnant, and l cry at everything Blush

SmashleyHop · 22/09/2015 16:03

I cried because Burger King forgot to take my onions off my burger.

I cried and threw a toy at DH head for not being told the plans changed and my FIL turned up at our door a whole day early. I was not prepared to house him and it turned into quite a dramatic fight. Blush

I cried trying on maternity clothes. Having to buy a large when all my life I had been a small really got to me (this was of course with my first pregnancy. I haven't been a small since!)

Even though I cry all the way through every episode I still continue to watch One Born Every Minute.

Donnakim · 22/09/2015 19:42

Oh just remembered another one! I cried because DH shaved for an interview. It took me years to convince him to grow his beard, and he looks great with it. I also didn't want him to take the new job as he would not see much of DS when he arrives... But it was coming home to his nekkid chin that made me sob for about 45 minutes Confused

Ha! Thank you for sharing everyone! I'm new here so not quite certain but think DH is darling husband?!

Did the cry & walk for about half an hr when I couldn't find a cinnamon bun for lunch.

Had to pop to the loo to have a proper private bawl when my DH ordered me a sparkling water instead of still (others were having fancy alcoholic drinks/cocktails so my water took forever to arrive & he KNOWS fizzy drinks bring on the vomiting!!)

Had a complete meltdown alone in my car whilst watching an elderly man cross the road (at traffic lights)

Many many meltdowns watching others eat food, cook food, buy food / ingredients that I used to love but now only make me sick!!

Heavenscent86 · 22/09/2015 21:26

I cried watching nanny McPhee and the Big Bang and also because I couldn't find my highlighters.

sophiaslullaby · 23/09/2015 08:22

Could cry now because DH has not put the charity bags at the FRONT of the drive, has virtually hidden them behind the car and now they haven't been taken. But think it's come under 'Stupid Things I Have Got Angry Over' because I am beyond tears...fury is boiling inside. Pretty stupid really because we can always take them to charity shop this afternoon.
I feel like such a mean monster!

Heavenscent86 · 23/09/2015 12:23

Also have just been crying because my jacket potato is taking too long to cook and I feel sick and I just want to eat it now.

TwllBach · 23/09/2015 13:27

I nearly cried my way through a course I was on this morning because I was at the front of the room and had to crick my neck to see the screen and we didn't have a break until 10.30... normally I have a snack at 10 and I was convinced I was going to pass out Sad

dizzylemon · 20/11/2015 14:58

Because it's a Friday and smiling/giggling is good for you, I'm resurrecting this thread.

At 20 weeks, the emotional outbursts have eased off a little but I did get a wobbly bottom lip when I caught one of the sad death scenes in LOTR as I was leaving work (work for a media company).

None of the Xmas adverts have got to me though - Sainsburys came close. Anyone else?

Maybe i should start another thread to discuss all the stupid shit I've done recently as well - like leave my car keys in the ignition when I went to the pub Blush

I cried like a baby at the joint rendition of La Marseillaise at the England v France match earlier in the week. What is it about national anthems?

EllieJayJay · 20/11/2015 15:29

I decided late one evening I wanted peanut butter, ordered extra crunchy to arrive the next day in a shopping delivery

It wasn't crunchy enough and I sobbed whilst eating it...

I even feel like crying a little bit just thinking about it...

princesspineapple · 20/11/2015 15:39

I hit the crazy pregnant lady jackpot the other night... I asked my OH to put something away in the fridge, but baby brain took over and I couldn't remember the word for fridge, so I called it the cold cupboard. Then I cried for almost an hour because he laughed at me for saying cold cupboard Blush
I can laugh at myself for it now... But it was very serious sadness at the time!

tinyme135 · 20/11/2015 15:39

I cried at the Disney parade son. I think it reminded me of when I was there as a young child...I'm weird I know haha

Icklepickle101 · 20/11/2015 18:12

DP surprising me with roulade (my craving) but he bought chocolate not raspberry, I sobbed for a good hour, despite having some raspberry roulade in the freezer, how could he get it so wrong?!

Stepawayfromthezebras · 20/11/2015 18:15

I couldn't find my handbag this morning. Obviously I cried Sad

NoArmaniNoPunani · 20/11/2015 18:15

The Guinness advert with Gareth Thomas had me in bits.

CandyAndSparkles · 20/11/2015 18:18

I cried at a very small cardigan when shopping for a baby present for newborn niece while I was about 16 weeks pregnant. I had to leave the shop, it was all too overwhelming.

RoTo72 · 20/11/2015 19:06

Crying every time my 15yr old son wont hug me, (he hasn't hugged me voluntary in about 2yrs)
Cried cos I couldn't remember where I lived getting a cab home from.parents house
Cried cos I got lost in a shopping centre I pass thru every day on way home from work and had to phone mum to direct me to exit
Cried yesterday cos I tried to phone my mum using the sky remote

BelleMairead2 · 20/11/2015 19:33
  1. Struggling to park my car
  2. DH sighing (burst into tears because I thought he was upset and not talking to me)
  3. DH making me jump
OhWhatAPalaver · 20/11/2015 21:22

There's an old Savoy cinema near me that was on the brink of being sold off or demolished or something but there was a huge community campaign to keep it and reopen it as an cinema+arts centre. The community won and I drove past it just after it had reopened, it was full of people and families and looked great. Obviously I cried while driving for about 15 minutes...
