Crib bumper

I've bought a crib- a stationary one, for baby from birth to sitting up. It came with a bedding pack- mattress protector, sheet and crib bumper, the kind that ties on to the crib frame. Am I right in thinking I shouldn't use the bumper?

The advice does seem to now be not to use one. I did with my son but I won't with no.2.

Yes- not safe. (Although someone will be along in a minute to say that their child was not hurt by their bumper &, therefore, they are safe)
Have a bit of a google, but I think it's initially a problem of overheating, then they can get tangled in them and then they can use them to climb out the cot

We didn't use one, due to the potential safety issue and also because we wouldn't be able to see DD from our bed if we put it on.

Thank you, in the bin the bumper goes.
