Sore ribs!!

Is it possible for baby to crack ur ribs??
He's been kicking my ribs for a few weeks now and they are sore on the right side but he kicked earlier I felt a crack! Hmm and very sore now Hmm

It is poss. Have a Google. See your doc but not much they can do.

I think it's unlikely a baby would muster the force to break a rib but it certainly could have given a decent bruising/walloping.

Either way there's no treatment for rib fractures apart from pain relief, same as for bruising. So I'd dose up on paracetamol at least (codeine is safe to take too if you need something stronger).

ooo, ouch! I offer my full sympathies. If i lie on my left side baby will give some almighty kicks (punches? Can't work out if it's his hand or foot) into my ribs. It makes me yelp out in pain but DH thinks it's cute and comes rushing over to feel my bump. He's greeted with my growls to get off!

You may well be bruised - would have had to have been some kick for a cracked rib but, like already been said, only pain relief can be taken for it. Heal quick! x

Thanks for ur replies, midwife says she thinks just badly bruised.. I had a growth scan last wk and he's head down so feet in my ribs lol and my OH thinks it's funny and cute when he can feel a foot by my ribs lol Hmm 6wks to go!! Whoop whoop
