Tailbone pain

I'm 17 + 2 in first pregnancy and have started to get really bad pain in my tailbone. I have a desk job and sitting down today was agony! Actually, getting up from sitting down wasn't much fun either ... not so much waddling as hobbling Sad

Is it normal to be having pain this early? The baby's still only tiny!

Does anyone have any tips on the right way to sit at a desk / cushions etc I could use to be a bit more comfortable? Would exercises help?

I got a birthing/exercise ball to use in the office instead of my chair and it made a huge difference in the level of pain I had in my pelvis and lower back.
Had a few funny remarks from people but after trying it out some of the guys followed and got one themselves for non pregnancy related back issues.

I get this on and off, it's never been chronic but my osteopath told me that the muscles around your hips and tailbone are connected to the ones in the front of your thighs so keeping those stretched out can help alleviate coccyx pain!

Stand up with your knees together and hold an ankle up behind your bum. You should feel that front thigh muscle stretching!

Hope that helps a bit x

I have this exact thing, currently 16 weeks with twins. It's so painful to get up from sitting down on the office chair for a while. I found that today I say with one leg under the other and my bum slightly off the chair and it did stop it but not sure how long I can keep that up for as sitting at an angle. Am also planning on buying a neck support cushion that you wear on planes, and sitting on it with my tailbone in the middle. Let me know if you find any solutions x
