It took almost 2 years to get pregnant with this baby and I'm not able to feel happy or excited.
I've had bleeding since 5 weeks which was implantation then nothing until 9 weeks on and off every few days. I had a big gush on Sunday and another gush today. Apparently this bleeding is caused by low lying placenta. Then at my dating scan today they tell me my baby has a cyst in its abdomen which needs a follow up scan with fetal medicine

I just don't know how much more of this I can take or what else is going to go wrong. Maybe this pregnancy is just not meant to be.
I feel so down about it I just don't know what to do.

I'm sorry you're having such a rotten worrying time. Do you have long to wait for your next scan?

Thanks for replying. I'm waiting for the hospital to ring with an appointment so who knows. I keep magiming the worst case scenario. It doesn't help that I suffer with anxiety at the best of times.

I know, pregnancy is just designed to breed anxiety I think. I also really overthink things so sympathise. I really have no idea about the cyst element other than to say at least they noticed it as early as feasibly they could have done and they can do absolute wonders medically these days, even if it is something that needs addressed. I know that won't stop the worry. As for the bleeding - I'm 15 weeks and have probably bled for about 4 out of those. Including two 'big' bleeds. Baby is fine and pregnancy is 'normal'. I think bleeding is so much more common that is out there and is sometimes just a neutral rather than outright bad thing.

If the waiting is doing your head in can you phone midwife, explain, and ask for guidance on procedure from here on in?

Thank you. Yes I know overthinking/ googling is the worst thing i can do. I'm going to ring the hospital in the morning and just ask them a few more questions.

Hi Mrsbadger, I had 3 big bleeds in the first 14 weeks which was due to low anterior placenta. After the 3rd bleed I had spotting for a week and then it stopped. Had another scan & placenta was no longer low & have had no bleeds since (now 23 weeks). Hopefully yours will stop soon. The placenta usually moves apparently. It's a horribly worrying time - I've had 3 mcs so as soon as I started bleeding I assumed the worst.
Hope the cyst gets sorted easily. It's amazing what they do, even before the baby is born. Make sure the hospital keeps a close eye on you.
