Advices against constipation

Hi to everybody!
I am 26 weeks and fighting against constipation!
Can I ask what do you do against it?
I usually take half teaspoon of tamarind jam before going to bed but since I have almost finished it, and it seems quite hard to find it here in UK I was wondering what could else be effective?
Any tricks, any magic?
Quite curious...

Prune juice works for me. I actually quite like the taste of it too.

I was struck down by this a few weeks back, utmost empathy for you!
I upped my water intake, had a prune juice with breakfast and sprinkled some all bran ontop of my normal cereal, and I snacked on dried apricots during the day.
Sorted me right out with a day.

All bran sorted me out too!

Bit of a strange one but a cup or two of strong tea helps me. Also grapes and loads of water.

Coffee, satsumas and as much water as you can drink!

Another vote for prunes: one of the large , soft Agen ones are delicious with a square if dark chocolate.????Lots of water, for me thats two or three litres of room temperature water every day.????Everyday things for me to keep regular are lots of spinach and a coffee after the meal. HTH

Adding chia seeds to cereal/porridge/yoghurt. I find they give me good clearance ;)

I tried to "classic" Kellogg's but they only bloat me a lot, my bump seems going to explode but nothing happens !! I will give a go to prunes...I feel like a balloon !!!! ????

Roobush tea for constipation..weeks and weeks in and it's like clockwork:) 2 cups a day or less seems enough

docmcstuffins1 · 16/09/2015 18:52

I've not had any problems, and drink Roobios tea everyday so Haley may be onto something!

Sighing · 16/09/2015 19:13

I had no idea re redbush and I drink it every day. The only problem i had was 1 week into my holiday in summer with no redbush tea! (Where i turned to daily fresh figs).

cloudjumper · 17/09/2015 12:49

I drink litres of rooibosh/redbush tea and am really suffering with constipation, so not convinced about that one...

Prunes, prune juice and blackstrap molasses help me.

MAGNESIUM supplements! I don't know why this is not more commonly known. My midwives made sure I knew that when I upped my iron supplementation, up the magnesium, too. Very gentle, just gets everything moving again. I think I wouldn't have taken a poo since week 7 (17 weeks now) if it hadn't been for taking four magnesium pills a night.
