Hi everyone, so after a year of relaxed attempting to get pregnant and 3 months of OPK trying it appears it has worked! I did 2 pregnacy tests at the weekend and they said 3+ weeks....what do I do now? Make a GP appointment?

Congratulations!

You need to ring your GP surgery and ask what the local procedure is (it varies).

Congratulations!!

Phone your GP and they'll tell you what you need to do :-) you probably won't even be seen by your GP. I was given a pack at reception giving me instruction on how to contact the Midwife team. You will see a Midwife for 'booking in' when you're around 8-10 weeks gone. There you will be quizzed about you and your partners family medical history, pee in a pot and be weighed etc. They will refer you on for your 12 week scan and then won't see them again until 16 weeks.

Enjoy and hope you don't suffer too much with the dreaded 'morning' sickness :-)

Check local.maternity ward, I was given wrong advice by doctor and first pregnancy wasn't booked in.

Thanks all, I have made appointment to see my GP even though probably isn't necessary but as its my first (and I'm a bit older!) I want to cover everything. Hopefully get a date booked to meet midwife and get the ball rolling. So excited, roll on 12 week scan so can actually tell people ??
