stress rash???

over a decade ago i developed a rash on my torso which i'm sure was due to the stress i was under at the time (family member had had exactly the same rash and said it was stress).
With time, the rash shrank until there was just a very small patch of it that's never gone away.
Some months ago, it came back but not as bad, then got a bit better in early pregnancy, then worse in line with the stress i was under.
Do I need to do anything about it? Could it affect the baby? The reason I'm asking is that I'm sure the NHS answer to it is to use a cream that contains god-knows-what, and obviously I don't want to do that during pregnancy/breastfeeding, so if it's harmless to me and the baby, I'll just leave it.

I don't think anyone but a doctor could answer those questions. It could be anything, and may well not be stress related.

You really do need to get it checked out. It could be absolutely anything from a bit of contact dermatitis to a number of much more serious things.

If it's harmless (mild dermatitis flare up) and the doc confirms it's harmless, you can ignore it, but if it's something more serious then the potential effects could be worse than a bit of corticosteroid cream...

A quick GP visit will put your mind at rest - none of us can diagnose but I think it's not wise to assume it's stress (even if it is flaring at times of stress, it doesn't mean it's benign) and get it checked out.
