I am 13+1. Had scan at 12+4 and all was looking normal.
Had combined test done on Wednesday and havnt had a phone call to say I'm high risk so I assume I'm low risk.
Is it ok to buy this bottle/steriliser set that's on offer, or should I wait until nearer baby is due?

Id go ahead and buy it, (even though it doesn't feel like it) buying early wont 'jinx' anything

Skiptonlass · 13/09/2015 12:21

Go for it. It's better to get things on offer and spread the cost :)

Ohjellybelly · 13/09/2015 12:23

I'm 18 weeks today and have brought everything already.

This is baby number 5 after a 9 year gap so I know exactly what I need.
I also know that nine months flies by and when you've got Christmas in the middle of things, it all gets expensive.

I'm super organised and can now relax with getting in with other things.
With regards to jinxing things - I don't believe that my shopping habit will have any negative effect on the outcome of this pregnancy.

Its never too early because it's such a personal thing. People do talk about it jinxing the pregnancy but that's just flim flam tbh! I had everything by 20 weeks or so and I'm 37+2 today. Happy shopping Smile

MummyBex1985 · 13/09/2015 15:13

I would buy it Smile

By 12 weeks you are certainly more than reasonably safe so why not spread the cost Smile

Artandco · 15/09/2015 11:37

I wouldn't. But only because there's always sales on, and you are more likely to get even better ale in January.

I would write a list up of everything you need, and research what types etc. then in January get them. You might be able to consider is you really need certain things or if you already have similar at home so can reduce what's needed to be bought

I'd wait unless you are 100% sure this is the bottle/sterilizer set for you. Only because over my pregnancy between my own research and recommendations from friends, I've changed my mind on brands and items that when I started looking at around 20 weeks I was sure I wanted.

Cheshirehello79 · 16/09/2015 21:10

I bought first item at 8 weeks by 25 weeks everything including pram ordered. Got pram delivered yesterday I'm now 29 weeks. I found spreading the cost so easy and I can now relax as everything is becoming a bit of a task now so I'm glad did it all gradually and not follow any rule. Whatever way suits you just go for it. I'm not superstitious so I just did it my way I'm I'm glad I did .

I find it better to spread the cost, I'm also bargain hunting on eBay and such and when I see a good deal I go for it.
