Phenergan morning sickness

In late August I was prescribed phenergan for my morning sickness.
Some days I would throw up even water straight away.
These tablets work and I have been taking one every two/three days. I take one if I vomit more than twice a day.
However I'm worried as on the packet it says don't take for more than seven days without seeing a doctor. I have to and them for eight days now.
Really panicking that I'll do harm to my unborn baby.
Do I need to take them if I'm vomiting three times a day some days? They take away all the sickness and nausea and I feel normal using them but I don't know if it's safer to just ride the sickness out.

It's perfectly safe. Many women who suffer with hyperemesis use this drug daily and several other drugs including one used for chemo patients. I'm on chemo one right now. I was also on other drugs when I was pregnant with dd for hyperemesis and she is a perfect two year old. All of these drugs have not been tested on pregnant women which is why it's never stated on the packaging that it's approved.

The 7 day warning is just bc they want to check up on you rather than it necessarily doing damage bc they want to be sure it's definitely working.

They say don't take paracetamol for more than 3 days without consulting with a doctor. I have recurring tonsillitis and have questioned the doctor on the 3 days before and they just said it's so you're not taking it indefinitely.

I would book into the GP next week as it might be a case of if it's not worked after a week, they'll want to try something different. They wouldn't have prescribed extra of they were that unsafe.

But you were prescribed them by a doctor so it is fine. I'm sure the warning is for anyone buying them over the counter.

I took Phenergan in first pregnancy and Stemetil in second one and also something else which I had injected but can't remember the name.

My dcs are fine. Hyperemesis is awful. My sympathies.

Most medication says if pregnant check with doctors before taking and it's normally fine to take it.

I took them throughout my first two trimesters, and had no problems at all. They are very safe. Don't worry, and just try to enjoy feeling better! Xx
