Maternity wear for tall people

I'm wondering if anyone can give me advice on where to by maternity wear for tall women? I have tried jeans and skirts from JoJo but they are way to short. Mothercare trousers and leggings are also too short. I did have some next leggings last pregnancy but they were so thin and rubbish quality I haven't tried them this time. I'm not that tall (5ft11) but I have really long legs (normally wear a 36inch leg) and am struggling to find anything to fit. The fact that most of it is mail order and you don't know it's too short until it arrives is beginning to get annoying (and expensive, looking at you JoJo, no free returns).

George at Asda do a slightly longer length style of maternity jeans. I'm 5'10" Smile

Otherwise... Skirts and tights? Or using the jeans band expanders for your regular jeans worn with a long top or dress to cover the band?

Long tall sally and tall maternity store do 36 inch maternity trousers. Mail order but the order is by leg length so you know you're getting what you ask for

I've got some New Look jeans that I had during my first pregnancy 3 years ago, I normally have 34" jeans and they are too long, don't know if they still do them?

MrsPCR · 12/09/2015 16:44

Yup tractorgirl, New Look still do longer jeans. I saw some 36" jeans on there the other day. Work trousers on the other hand I am struggling to find.

I bought some leggings from Jojo Maman the other week. Normally a size 10 34-35" leg so bought small and they had the tightest legs ever! I have really thin calfs and struggled to get them up. Bought the next size up, medium which is apparently 12-14 and they are more than long enough but still not that big on the legs. Probably not ok for a size 14....

quesadillas6 · 12/09/2015 16:51

I'm 5ft 6 and I find leggings from Purpless to be quite long on me. They wrinkle around my ankles a good inch or two so they might work for you. Not tried any of their other stuff though.

TheBeanpole · 12/09/2015 17:44

Topshop does some longer jeans. I had some luck with H&M but you have to try them on (although I am only a 34 inch leg). Asos?

Tftpoo · 12/09/2015 17:55

Thanks for the suggestions, I will start looking. I did wear skirts and dresses most of the last pregnancy but it would be useful to have some jeans and leggings at least. I also seem to be bigger earlier this time so need things with bump space already!

Next do jeans and some trousers in long length too

cloudjumper · 12/09/2015 19:56

Try Vertbaudet or Gap, I think they do trousers in different lengths. Vertbaudet do free returns, but I don't know about Gap. Otherwise New Look, H&M, Next, Asos...

Amazon sell maternity wear, and you might be able to search specifically for long-leg trousers on there.

Ahhhcantthinkofagoodname · 12/09/2015 20:15

I've literally just received some longer length verbaudet jeans and am so impressed, they are gorgeous and great value too. I'm a shade under 6ft and length is perfect. I ordered 14 and 16 (was suze 14 pre pregnancy) and am keeping the 16. Easy peasy free returns too! They also had some fab tops and coats too, have to admit I went a bit mad!

StewedFruit · 12/09/2015 21:44

I'm 5'10 and I got some vertbaudet work trousers too, longer length. I've worn them a lot, now 36 weeks and they still fit over bump! Next do some tall trousers too, tho.might not q be long enough for 36 inside leg

cheeseandcrackers · 13/09/2015 09:02

FunMum maternity on Amazon or their own site do extra long trousers which aren't too expensive. I normally wear 35"/36" leg length and their extra long, although it says 34" are really long. I have Next's extra long maternity jeans too (they only do a couple of styles in extra long) and they're just about OK. There are a few specialist sites that do 36" maternity jeans/trousers (can't remember the names, they tend to fold pretty quickly so names change often) but they tend to have only a couple of styles and cost £60+

cheeseandcrackers · 13/09/2015 09:05

Also, H&M jeans are too short for me but their leggings (even got to try them on in the actual shop!) are fab and the longest I have owned

WiIdfire · 13/09/2015 09:09

I managed to find one pair of black jeans and one pair of black leggings from Long Tall Sally and had to make do with those as I couldnt find anything else long enough. They only do those two plus some black work trousers (which I didnt buy) so its not like there is choice, BUT, the jeans and leggings were fab and I was happy to live in them. (Til the heat wave...)

Thegreatunslept · 13/09/2015 09:11

Ijm usually 34-36 inside leg and found asda maternity jeans were long enough on me. Next also do long length maternity. Long tall Sally have a maternity range and you could also try tall maternity store online. Your best bet would be to order a pair from a few different places to try.

docmcstuffins1 · 13/09/2015 09:14

I've got the opposite problem, I'm 5'2 and cannot find anywhere that does short leg maternity trousers or jeans! My inside leg is 29", I'm having to take everything up, and I'm no seamstress! Smile

Wishfulweddinglady · 13/09/2015 09:18

thegreatunslept the asda ones are they the standard maternity jeans? Or do they do seperate longer length? Might order some now :)

ejclementine · 13/09/2015 18:30

I'm 5'10 and these have been fab! All available in 'Long' length. www.next.co.uk/x6d5230s1#693131x56

GingerDoesntHelp · 13/09/2015 18:58

I'm 5'10" and a half. I have some S??raphine jeans, which are plenty long enough (I wear them slightly rolled up) and a cardigan with nice long sleeves. Going to buy more of their stuff.

Tftpoo · 14/09/2015 08:21

Thanks everyone. I see next do XL so that looks like my best bet. Going to get ordering today as I'm fed up with my jeans cutting my bump in half all the time! Thanks again, great suggestions.

Has anyone had any nice maternity pyjamas with longer length bottoms? The Jo Jo maman ones look nice but seem to only come in 29" inside leg? I'm 20 wks now and have one pair that just go over my bump( as the elastic has gone on the waist) that have just been wearing with vest tops, but would like some nice cosy ones for over the winter?
