I've just spent the afternoon with my lovely sister and her gorgeous nearly-two-year-old. He's full of energy, and at 39+5 I'm now exhausted!

So hat's off to all of you who are pregnant and have a toddler! I have no idea how you do it!

The key is to retreat to a safe distance and occasionally throw food in the direction of the toddler

And playing outside on the slide whilst mummy sits in chair and watches!!

Haha, I'm 37 (the beautiful end is nigh!!) weeks and have a 20 month old! It's been ROUGH!

This thread made me laugh, my toddler is absolutely awesome though and despite being utterly exhausted, he's a constant reminder why I've gone through it all again! I fear the real hard work is yet to come though!

Gosh I am only 18 weeks!! Lol. The worst has been the tiredness with an active 2 yr old.

Although she is pretty amazing and giving her a sibling (even if she says she doesnt want it ;)) will be amazing!

Allstoppedup I hope the last few weeks go quickly for you! You must be relieved to be so close to the end!!

Training.

My preschoolers clear the table, get out cutlery etc, put my shoes on, let me sleep etc. Older one takes off little ones morning nappy. I just sit around like a whale

I just got woken up by my dh on the sofa, so have gone up to bed!

I really don't know how you do it. You all deserve medals

38+2 here, with a 19 month old and I am a broken woman!

Had PGP for the last 2 weeks which means I can barely walk ("take paracetamol" says the midwife... )

Toddler has never seen so much telly and had so much access to the cbeebies playtime app!

So close and yet so far......

31 weeks here and my ds is two and a half. He's fantastic but I could kiss whoever invented the CBeebies app. And my mum. She's been a star today and hoovered for me and changed the beds.

I remember being in the throes of morning sickness around the time DS2 was about 20 months.
All I could do was stick Barney abcs on repeat and lie in the couch. Even hearing the music now makes me want to weep.
When I was over 32 weeks I had to hire a helper on the weekends when DH was working to run errands with me because ds1 was such a quick runner. I chased him the first time, nearly knocked myself out with my boobs and then had Braxton hicks every 90 seconds so got someone else to do the running.

Fucking hell it was hard.

I've got at 22 month old and a 12 week old.

I read lots of threads about how to cope with a toddler and a newborn before DD was born and everyone said its easier with a toddler and a newborn than pregnant with a toddler..

Well they fucking lied.

At 9 months pregnant, I had an 18month old and lived in a top floor flat with no lift (also suffering from spd - you need crutches said the doctor. Mmm. really? I can see how I'd get up 4 flights of stairs carrying a toddler and pg with crutches!)

canigotobed It is easier. Well, not the first 6 weeks but after that it is. And much much easier than a 1 yr old and a 2 yr old! The newborn days - ahhhhh I long for the ability to just whack one down in a rocker and only deal with one toddler at a time! Twins is easier now!

I'm 32 weeks and have a 2 and a hf year old boy, full of energy and he's so quick. Had to leg it after him in the park the other day as he's at the "running away" stage and some cock had left the park gate open. Got impressed looks from others and braxton hicks all avo. I wanted to kill all twats who leave those gates open, they're not just for keeping dogs out!

CanIGoToBedNow thank you for the vote of confidence. Within the next 3 weeks I'll have a 2.5yo and newborn twins. If I wasn't shitting myself before I certainly am now! Haha!

RockerMummy184 sorry my circumstances are slightly different to most people. My husband works away Mon-Fri so I'm on my own during the week.

It's hard work... I've been lucky that my newborn is very good but my 22 month old is hitting the terrible twos early and is proving hard work.

I think what gets you is the guilt that you are neglecting one or the other. DD is smiling and laughing already with very little imput from me so that's a comfort.

I recommend doubling up on bouncers upstairs and downstairs so you can keep your twins safe when you are with your toddler.

8 weeks pregnant here with an exhausting two year old...to top it I'm suffering from hyperemesis. As if pregnancy isn't hard enough! Can barely look after her. Lucky for me she's at nursery 5 days a week and today oh has realized that he's got to start looking after her as my head is permanently glued to a sick bowl!

Only 13 weeks here but I have 20 month old twins. It feels like it's going to be a long six months...

I have waited till DS is 4 and in school for exactly this reason! I struggled with one baby/toddler/preschooler. Sometimes I still think we're mad to be doing this again.

A year ago I was heavily pregnant and had a 2 year old. I think he watched more cbeebies than he needed to!

33 weeks here with a one year old who seems to be on daily suicide missions. A playpen has been ordered!
