Hi all,

Had a severe headache all Eve and the pain is keeping me up, it's like a migraine! Am I allowed to take anything for this?

Yes! You can take 2 x 500mg paracetamol. If you are in 2nd or third trimester, and don't think the paracetamol will cut it, you can take the pharmacist over the counter codeine + paracetamol (8mg/500mg) x 2.

I'm not a midwife or doctor, but have had four kids and suffer from migraines, so am giving you advice that I've been given.

There are different drugs you could take if it hasn't cleared by tomorrow but would need to see a doctor for this.

Hope you feel better soon.

You can have paracetamol or cocodamol. Also try ice or a heat pack around the pain and back of neck (different things work for different people). If it's still bad tomorrow maybe call your midwife/Gp.

Headache can be a sign of pre eclampsia, it's probably nothing but I'd just check with the midwife Smile
