I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy

I would like to thank Everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Thisisnow - yep mental lol

Who's has took ondanstron really early
And who thought it helped with the constant nausea ??xx

Melleebacca · 15/09/2015 19:42

Spandau - I've been on ondansetron since 8w. I found it didn't really help with the constant nausea, but did make it harder to vom and thus meant I could eat and drink a little more. Hope that helps!

Reebok · 15/09/2015 19:47

Great news about the Meds mop. Hope it helps. Flowers

Thanks thisisnow. Seem to be having a really bad few days.

Spandau I started ondasetron at

Reebok · 15/09/2015 19:48

Oops hit send before I finished!

Started it at 7 weeks. It controls the vomiting but the nausea is still there and still as debilitating as ever. Nothing seems to get rid of it I'm afraid for me. The nausea seems really bad lately and has me in tears.

Reebok · 15/09/2015 19:55

Dd only wants me to put her to sleep. She likes to cuddle and moves around like mad..makes me feel like I'm in a car and extra sick. Keep snapping at her. Can't stand too much movement or noise these days. Weeks 7- 9 are meant to be the toughest right?

spandau1980 · 15/09/2015 19:59

Lol weeks 1 -40 I recon ;)

Reebok · 15/09/2015 20:19

Feel like a horrible person! What sort of mum can't stand being near her kid? Been throwing up, crying and peed myself. I just want it all to stop.

thisisnow · 15/09/2015 20:25

Oh gosh Reebok sounds like you're really suffering today. Your DD won't remember any of this so just remember that. Have you been to the hospital to ask for help?

Reebok · 15/09/2015 20:30

Ketones are fine. On ondasetron, cyclizine and ranitidine which controls the vomiting. It's the nausea which is really getting to me. I only feel ok when I sleep. But even then I can't sleep properly so I feel nauseous all the time. I don't know what to do. I can't cope.

elizabethsmum · 15/09/2015 20:55

So many of you suffering badly at the moment :(
In my second hg pregnancy the nausea was a constant 24/7 and just as awful as the vomming. The worst weeks for the constant nausea were weeks 7-11 from hazy memory. Nothing much unfortunately took it off drug wise- i suppose buccastem if anything eased it briefly. Sucking on a fizzy haribo cola bottle sweet would also ease it very slightly. I didn't find much relief with anything else at that point sadly. It was just crippling. I really feel for you reebok

freshbread pray that your scan brings more positive news. As a sonographer I have seen several instances where there has been increased fluid around baby's neck and then everything has turned out ok. When I had my twins, one had a much thicker measurement than the other. Ended up having an amino at 17 weeks and all was well. I really really hope that this is the case for you as well. Please keep us posted xx

My Dd1 was 4 yrs old reebok when I was pg with dts- she watched 'a lot' of tv and it did her no harm! Don't feel bad.

thisisnow · 15/09/2015 20:57

Oh I wish it would get better for you Reebok , it's such a hard time. Hopefully it will improve for you after 9 weeks?

elizabethsmum · 15/09/2015 20:58

motherofpearl sorry you are sufferering badly again. Glad you have been in and got iv. Always better to be a week further on than you thought as well!

Welcome by the way to all sorry really struggling with phone keypad playing up!!

thisisnow · 15/09/2015 20:59

Yes to cola bottles Elizabethsmum!

Heavenscent86 · 15/09/2015 21:17

Fresh good luck with Monday's scan. I hope everything goes well. So many new posts on here. I'm struggling to keep up. Thrown up so many times today now. I feel weak and exhausted and my throat is on fire. How joyous!!

Ems10000 · 15/09/2015 21:26

feeling very fed up today, started with rib flare - the pain is excruciating

TwoDrifters · 16/09/2015 01:08

Hello all!

Well I thought I was through the worst of it. I'm currently 24 weeks and had my first week back at work last week since being signed off by my GP back in June!

However I stupidly tried weaning myself off the cyclizine and have suffers a MAJOR relapse. I have been so so sick today. What an idiot. I guess I'll just keep taking it throughout the pregnancy?!

How is everyone else doing? x

spandau1980 · 16/09/2015 01:52

Well just woke up to throw up my tea... nice
Hubby did prawn curry I said no ill have a piece of salmon .. but it smelt so good.. had some too and wow my throat is killing me :(
Reebok how far are you ??
I've written it on the calender the weeks and crossing days off in blood sweat and tears the closer I get to those 16 weeks only 9.5 weeks to go
I've told every body this time I'm pregnant no waiting til 12 weeks crap that way they can understand why I can't do this and that or look like a pile of poo
Helps keep you level headed when you need support most
Nibbling on a dry cracker while household is asleep
#ratherbesleepingnext10weeks

elizabethsmum · 16/09/2015 07:25

twodrifters I definitely learned my lesson about how effective meds are after first pg by chopping and changing all the time and being ill all the way through. Cyclizine was very effective for me in the second tri.
Poor you - it is gutting but hopefully brief relapse.

elizabethsmum · 16/09/2015 07:27

Huge admiration to you spandau - twice was enough for me!! Are your older ones all at school yet - hope you manage a cracker and then retire to bed!- i told people early- much easier!!

Heavenscent86 · 16/09/2015 07:54

I have told a lot of people already too. There's no choice really when you're being sick all the time and signed off work for weeks. Plus I have needed my family's help with my daughter.

MotherofPearl · 16/09/2015 08:19

Just checking in to say that I'm feeling worryingly well this morning. Was able to get up and help DP get the children ready for school/nursery, and have managed a small breakfast too. Resisting the urge to spring clean the house as worried about setting myself back, and can hardly dare to believe that this level of improvement will last.

Heavenscent86 · 16/09/2015 08:29

Don't clean the house MoP. I made that mistake last Thursday and haven't felt too well since. Glad you are feeling brighter and managing to eat a bit though.

Reebok · 16/09/2015 09:11

Morning all. I cannot seem to pry myself out of bed. My eyes keep closing. Don't know if it's the Meds or tiredness but I know I need to eat something soon. Thank you for all your kind words Elizabethsmum and thisisnow.

Spandau I'm 8.4 weeks. And that's just a guess as I haven't had a period since May. Mc in July so going by mc date.

Reebok · 16/09/2015 09:12

Mop I agree do not clean. Rest.

spandau1980 · 16/09/2015 10:04
