Hi got my nuchal screening test results today. Wondering why I only have downs risk.

NTERPRETATION
Screening result : SCREEN NEGATIVE
Risk of Down's : 1 in 280 [at term]
Risk due to age alone : 1 in 1450
Nuchal : 4.9mm: 3.87 mom
Frea beta hug level: 120.7: 2.99 mom
Papp-a: 5283: 2.26 mom
Nasal bone: present.
It doesn't mention t18 and t13 so can anyone say if I'm probably low risk based on Papp-a results as well? Would they be really low with those?

I suffered with bad morning sickness so not surprised hcg is a little high

Hi Ginger

My nhs screening letter only refers to Down's syndrome risk as well but the info I was given before the scan said it also tests for the other trisonomy conditions.

sorry i don't know the answer to this but your GP/midwife and possible charities that deal with these conditions (and/or Down's) should. I've found the NHS website to be quite good so it's worth having an exhaustive look on there (drill down thru the menus as opposed to searching). I've got some dim recollection of a charity that just deals with prenatal screening and the choices it throws up, but my memory might be playing tricks on me.

I just wanted to lend you my support because you shouldn't have been left in a position where you're having to come on Mumsnet to get advice, they should have been clear in the letter in the first place!

best of luck xxxxxxx

The charity that deals with prenatal screening and subsequent choices which a pp refers to is ARC - antenatal results and choices if that's any help.

No help here, but I'm wondering the same thing. I'm in Scotland, and my results letter only mentions DS risk. I'm going to ask when I see my midwife.

I wondered this too but was a bit too worked up at the time to ask.
