Back pain, trouble with walking and a toddler

I need help and advice please. I'm 37 weeks pregnant and in the last week started to get really bad lower back pain making it difficult to walk. Sitting and lying down is fine.

Firstly, has anyone been in this situation and found something that works? Other than paracetamol? I'm thinking exercises I suppose.

Secondly, any ideas of what's good to do with my toddler to make life easier? He's 20 months and happier on a playground than with a book. Soft Play is the obvious one, although I worry about him getting stuck and not being able to get to him.

Thanks in advance!

Osteopath!! She kept me upright and mobile for the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy. Dc3 was 17 months old and quicker than me, I could barely walk 50 metres because of the pain, dc4 turned out to be exceptionally large and transverse.

Swimming? Helps support you and your bump as well as fun for him

Second the osteopath, but also a pelvic support belt might help.

If you haven't already googled it, have a look here www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/pelvic-pain-pregnant-spd.aspx

Thanks for the responses!

I did visit a chiropractor last pregnancy, might be worth a visit.

Although 'exceptionally large'....?! You could have left that bit out! Smile

Chiropractor for me! I couldn't sit, stand, walk or lie down at 32 weeks. Now at 37 with regular appointments and like a new woman!
