I'm 27 weeks and not sure If I'm paranoid or shut be worried.

I keep getting cramps like period through base of tummy and base of back. I keep hesitating to phone MAU as don't want to seem like crazy paranoid pregnant lady. My cramps are pretty sore and uncomfortable they come and go every so often had around 3 cramps in last hour but keep getting pressure in my back aswell in between that. Am I paranoid or said I be worried. I don't think it's Braxton hick cz there sore like period achiness

Thanks

I would give you mau a quick call - just in case. Please remember that I am in no way medically trained - but I've had some bh that have been a bit like that periody (at about 28 weeks) and this is very tmi but its been when I've needed a poo - sorry. Give them a call and Try laying on your left hand side and or having a walk around and see what they say xx good luck xx

I'm like Double I get quite bad period pains when I need a poo. Usually a few hours before I realise I even need one! I would also give them a call for your own peace of mind. I'm 24 weeks so a few weeks behind you and I often get aches and pains similar to period pains which I put down to constipation/stretching.

Hope all is well! X

Hi Not long bk from MAU.
When I arrived baby's heartbeat was very fast and so was mine. They done the fetal fibronectin test (not sure if correct spelling) to check for early labour but it came bk negative thank god so there satisfied it's not that. They don't know what's causing the cramps as they can see I'm having them but they aren't having any effect on baby at all so they said unless they get alot more painful I'm okay to remain at home. Definitely not caused by needing to poo as I'm very regular and these are period type cramps through the back and tummy and Defo not because I need the toilet. Just glad to be home in bed and now satisfied my little monster is okay as she's been quite a fighter through this pregnancy(ruptured ovarian cyst at beginning of pg etc) her heartbeat came down back to normal by the time I'm left so here hoping we have an easy stress free 13 weeks to due date xx

I had something similar which turned out to be my kidneys struggling a bit. It resolved itself eventually, they just took a while to get used to the new situation. The gp/mw just kept a closer eye for a few weeks.
