There are a few old threads on a similar topic, but am so confused and hoping for more up to date advice. so am on the pill, have 2 kids under 4 and had no plans for any more, BUT.. period never came when I had my 7 pill free days, so i took 2 tests last week, both negative. phew. but then i took another test on saturday and was very faintly positive. first 2 were cheap boots ones, second was cheap pound shop one. so stupid but am actually afraid to take another test, as another baby would not be practical at all right now. are the cheap pound shop tests less accurate than say boots ones, should I invest in a dearer one? though i always thought those ones for like €20 were a rip off. am afraid to keep taking my pill if I am pregnant. i know i should just bite the bullet and do another test right? but am scared Shock

i know i should just bite the bullet and do another test right? Yes, you should.

It's very very rare to get a false positive pregnancy test, even a very cheap one.

It could have been an evap line on the pound shop test. Buy a first response or clear blue and test again to be sure. Don't bother with a digital one though as they aren't very accurate either and are a rip off

Given that the last test was the positive one I'd take another. You do have options if this isn't the news you wanted.

Junosmum · 31/08/2015 15:39

Do another test, cheap or expensive it doesn't matter, just do one!

Junosmum · 31/08/2015 15:40

Oh, and the pill won't do any harm to the baby.

jillamona · 31/08/2015 15:51

Congrats. The Doctor won't retest for you though. They will just make referral to midwife team.
