What's the chances? Using the Kindara App

So Ive recently started posting since needing advice back in June. I wasn't sure if I was pregnant then...turns out I had a chemical, which didn't really upset or affect me, I was more like "ah well, lets try again next month" kind of attitude. But been TTC since March and tests just keep coming back negative, and I am beginning to get a bit frustrated with it all. I had a few people recommend Kindara app, so this is my first month charting using it. Not taking temps, just going off CM and using some cheapo O tests. Heres my first chart so far. What do you ladies think? Chances of me falling on this month maybe? Are any of you ladies using Kindara? And what do you think of it? (Normal 28-29 day cycle. Chemical 2 months ago). Fingers crossed.Smile

Probably better to post this in the trying to conceive forum, you'll get more responses.

not an app i've heard of, but assuming hearts are shags and + is a positive opk, then yes you're in with a chance :)
i'd probably have gone for another shag on sun and/or mon in case opk was a bit out/premature (don't use them so not an expert)

good luck!

Thanks, yeah, I didnt think about putting it in a different section, ah well, no worries. It was a shruggle trying to fit baby dancing in on saturday being in a small cabin with DS with us and visitors staying over. Hehe Wink

Honestly? I find the apps only really work when they have lots of information over several months to establish a pattern. And some of them are rubbish as they assume you have a 28 day cycle.

Have you tried clearblue dual hormone ov tests? I've had 4 bfps (sadly lost 3 of them to miscarriages) but I used clearblue every single time and worked like a dream.

Only downside is they are quite expensive - but you get what you pay for!!!!

I used the fertility friend app for BBT charting (after reading "taking charge of your fertility)....

good luck! :)

I used Kindara for a while to track temps and figure out if I was ovulating at all (I have PCOS). I felt it was giving me conflicting info so then started using Ovia as well. I added three months worth of data into Ovia and it predicted completely different ovulation dates to Kindara. We stuck with the Ovia recommendations and got pregnant the first month of trying - Kindara was telling me that I ovulated several days after I actually did using the exact same data.

That was all temp charting and monitoring CM though as I never had a positive OPK.

It has only been a few months. Don't worry too much about it.

What are the bars on the app? The colour is mucous, but the height is it basal temperature? It should be lower before ovulation and jump out upon ovulation. Are you measuring it intravaginally, and before getting out of bed and before doing anything physical (ahem...)?

Lweji · 03/09/2015 12:09

Also, I'd mostly go for the egg white mucous sign. The best kind for sperm, which needs some time to swim up there.

Lweji · 03/09/2015 12:14

Ah, I see they tell you to take the temperature orally. I don't think it's that reliable. But you still need to do it before you get up or move much. I'd also wait for the temperature to stabilise before taking it, particularly if you sleep with your mouth open. :)

I did it vaginally for a few years (for contraception, actually) and it worked very well.

Pingu1985 · 04/09/2015 21:50

The bars show the mucus, so redder and lower = more fertile? Supposedly. And green or fainter colours and higher bars = no/hardly mucus.

I havent actually measured properly my temps, but what i have come to realise is half way thru my cycle (about the time of ovulation (maybe?)) I get really bad hot flushes, so I know my temp is up drastically.

And ive only used kindara for two months, but i will try the app you said @Stroan and aee if it says any different. I downloaded fertility friend but am finding it very difficult to use. :/

The ladies on the TTC boards here are very knowledgeable about charts.

Pingu1985 · 04/09/2015 22:52

Will share with them then. :) thanks. :)
